Kansas Department of Commerce Names Business Appreciation Month Winners The Kansas Department of Commerce designates June as Business Appreciation Month, a celebration of Kansas businesses and their contributions to local communities and the state economy. Businesses can be nominated by any individual or organization.

Four Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce member businesses were recognized this year in one of four categories: Service, Manufacturing/ Distribution, Hospital/Non-Profit, and Retail.
Regional winners included Action Pact Design in Service. Merit Award winners included Ultra Electronics ICE in Manufacturing/Distribution, Manhattan Arts Center in Hospital/Non-Profit and Manhattan Running Company in Retail.
“The Business Appreciation Month awards provide a great opportunity to honor the many outstanding businesses in our state,” Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George said. “The finalists, regional winners and merit award winners have helped grow the Kansas economy, create jobs and invest in their community.” Lyle Peterson, Northeast Region Project Manager for the Kansas Department of Commerce, said “It is a pleasure to see these businesses receive recognition for their hard work.”
The Chamber of Commerce congratulates the nominated businesses and thanks ALL of our area businesses for their hard work, time and effort. Local businesses add life to our community.
