During its December Board meeting, the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors elected Kristin Brighton, Principal, New Boston Creative Group, as the 2016 Chair of the Board. During the past three years Kristin has been very active in the Chamber serving on the Chamber Board as well as on the Executive Committee. She has also served on the Advantage Manhattan Marketing Committee, the Branding and Marketing TAG, and the Chamber’s Small Business Taskforce.

The Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce and the Leadership Manhattan Board is honored to announce the 2016 Class of Leadership Manhattan. Jim Gordon, Certified Public Accountant, Sink, Gordon & Associates, was elected to the position of ChairElect. Lucy Williams, Vice President/ Trust Officer, The Trust Company, will now serve as immediate Past Chair; Matt Crocker, President & COO, Steel & Pipe Supply, was elected Treasurer; and Jackie Hartman, Chief of Staff, Kansas State University, as well as Wayne Sloan, President, BHS Construction, will both serve as Vice-Chairs to the Board.

The Manhattan Area Chamber Board of Director three-year appointments will be served by Aaron Apel, Manhattan Trail Works; Lonnie Baker,Meadowlark Hills; Summer Dierks, Law Office of

Oneyear appointments will be served by Evan Grier, Owner, Harry’s Restaurant; Cheryl Grice, Talent Acquisition, Division of Human Capital Services at Kansas State University; and Gail Urban, Financial Advisor, Edward Jones. Jake Wassenberg, Vice President, Pepsi Cola of Manhattan, was appointed to fill the unexpired Board term of Wayne Sloan, who was elected to the Executive Committee, and Mike Widman, Owner & President, Charlson-Wilson Insurance Agency, was Continued on page 2

2016 Annual Regional Leaders' Retreat The Junction City, Manhattan and Wamego Chambers of Commerce come together for the annual 2016 Regional Leaders' Retreat Jan. 22-23. Join other business leaders at the Sheraton Overland Park Hotel in Overland Park to discuss regional issues relating to Fort Riley, NBAF, housing and workforce.
