Happy Holidays in The Little Apple ! ®
Manhattan is a beautiful place year round, but it really lights up during the holiday season. While the weather is cold, there are many enjoyable activities throughout town to celebrate the season. We have made a list of the nice events happening in The Little Apple® this December, so check it twice!
Mayor’s Spirit of the Holidays Lighted Christmas Parade- One of the best Holiday events in town! This parade will begin at 5:30 PM on December 5 at Manhattan Town Center, proceed down Poyntz Avenue and finish at Triangle Park in Aggieville where the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place. Donations to the Flint Hills Breadbasket will be accepted during the parade. Ice Rink- Lace up your skates and bring some friends to enjoy time at the ice rink at City Park. 11th Annual Festival of Trees Gala- will take place on December 5th, 6:00 PM at the K-State Alumni Center. This event is hosted by the Flint Hills Volunteer Center and all proceeds fund their programs. Enjoy a cocktail reception, heavy hors d’oeuvres, complimentary drinks, silent auction, and live auction! Manhattan Town Center- Prove to Santa that you’ve been good until December 24th at Center Court. Also at Manhattan Town Center, enjoy the sights and sounds of the Holiday Music Festival at Picnic Place until December 20th.
Carriage Rides- Free carriage rides with a donation of a non-perishable food item will take place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from December 6th-21st, 5:00-8:00 PM. Pick up and drop off will be located at 3rd and Poyntz.
Little Apple Ball Drop- Prepare for the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop on December 31st, all day in Aggieville. The ball will begin it’s descent before midnight! Ring in the New Year Big Apple style. For more information, visit http://www.littleapplenewyears.com/.
