Kansas Department of Commerce Names Business Appreciation Month Winners The Kansas Department of Commerce designates June as Business Appreciation Month, a celebration of Kansas businesses and their contributions to local communities and the state economy. Businesses can be nominated by any individual or organization.

Four Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce member businesses were recognized this year in one of four categories: Service, Hospital/Non-Profit, Manufacturing/Distribution and Retail.

Regional winners included The Trust Company in Service and RSVP of the Flint Hills, Inc. in Hospital/Non-Profit. Merit Award winners included Five Star Vending Co. in Manufacturing/Distribution and Kistner’s Flowers in Retail.

Little Apple® Dollars for Back-to-School Shopping

What Are Little Apple Dollars? Little Apple Dollars are legal tender checks, guaranteed by the Chamber, that can be redeemed at over 100 Manhattan Chamber businesses for whatever the recipient desires. Each check includes a list of all businesses accepting Little Apple Dollars.

Besides using them for back-toschool shopping, they can be given for any occasion. Such as

birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, employee incentives, or achievement awards.

Why Should I Buy Little Apple Dollars? Your Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce is working hard to keep shopping dollars in Manhattan. Little Apple Dollars encourage people to shop locally which, in turn, strengthens our economy and supports business growth.

Where Do I Get Little Apple Dollars? Little Apple Dollars can be purchased in denominations of $5 $100 at no cost other than the face value of the check. They are available at the Chamber office, 501 Poyntz Ave, between 8:00am – 5:00pm on weekdays. Please call ahead for orders of five or more checks to ensure timely completion.

Can My Business Participate in the Little Apple Dollar

Program? All Chamber members can be a part of this program. There is no cost to be included! Participating businesses will be listed on the Chamber’s website, the card included with each check purchased, and included in other

Little Apple Dollar marketing materials.
