Skill Development Strength & Conditioning

Our Skill Development Events are designed to improve each individual athlete’s skill set, fundamentals and Basketball I.Q. Workouts are tailored-made for each athlete.

Pretty Girls Pound The Rock wants to help each athlete recognize their strengths and improve their weaknesses. Our development programs will also allow each athlete an opportunity to work at their own pace. During the short pre-season in middle school and high school, coaches have 2.5 weeks to prepare their teams for the season. After developing team chemistry and learning new offenses and defenses, it leaves little time for individual improvement However, at the Pretty Girls PTR events, our goal is to help ALL participants become more productive and play at a high skill level by focusing on the mastery of techniques of efficiency and explosiveness of each individual through programs like Ballhandling Bootcamp

The Strength & Conditioning Training

Events specialize in the use of resistance to induce muscular contraction. This will build balance, agility, speed, endurance, and strength. Strength Conditioning & Training will provide improvement in overall health and well-being. Including increased bone, muscle, tendon and ligament strength, toughness, improved joint function, improved cardiac function and reduced potential for injury. Strength & Conditioning Training is essential to the athlete’s health, longevity, and durability.

Each session helps improve Basketball IQ, develop leadership skills and add value to their game If the participant comes consistently and is open to the information she will improve

The Ladies’ League was developed for elite athletes ages 16 & up. To continue to grow as a competitor is important and this program allows young women to be among the greats to become even greater. The PGPTR League consists of 6-week league play and a double elimination tournament to crown a League Champion. All registered teams must have at least 8 players with a maximum of 10 All league games are held on Sundays The PGPTR Championship Tournament is held in May

"Success is not just in the classroom. It's on the court as well. There are unlimited possibilities and opportunities."
-Angela Buckner, Former WSU Player and Kansas Hall of Famer
-Joyea Crowley(Marshall)
Former College Basketball Player and Ambassador for PGPTR

According to the Women's Sports Foundation, girls who participate in sports learn “important life skills such as teamwork, leadership and confidence.” Girls involved in sports are more likely to complete high school and college, be active in their communities and become CEOs. Many of them go on to serve in administrative or executive roles. In their teenage and adult years, they may also take on the responsibility of mentoring other girls

An investment in girls and women lets others know where you stand. Organizations and companies that outwardly support and advocate for women are crucial to women’s empowerment.

To continue programming for girls and women, Pretty Girls Pound The Rock must offset costs associated with providing them the ultimate experience to learn, train and compete.

"Coaching can be a ministry because of what it does for the lives of young women. Sports wires young girls for competition and grows their confidence."
-Jodie Karsak, Former WSU Player and Coach

To provide training and programming for young girls and women, Pretty Girls Pound The Rock relies on families of girls to contribute However, for many of them, the cost of participating can create a barrier. "TD Ameritrade estimates that 63 percent of American families whose children play sports spend between $100 and $500 per child per month on youth sports. Twenty percent spend more than $12,000 a year. Two-thirds of parents hope their investments will lead to athletic scholarships. "

(Athletic Business, 2018)

Pretty Girls Pound The Rock never wants to turn a girl away Turning a girl away sends the message that she isn't worth investing in or doesn't belong.

To ensure that cost is not a barrier fo like to grow their confidence and leader sports, it's up to businesses to invest in

For every $100 in sales, PGPTR invests $ sporting event or team By investing in events and teams, we're making a bold GIRLS ARE WORTH IT!
