Stellar Luminaire by Wa—t

Modularity, mixing and adaptation are fast becoming a big part of both our desirous expectations and explicit requirements. We are moving into a new era – one of change, opportunities and new challenges – which marks the end of standardised experiences and opens up new possibilities for participation and customisation.

The Stellar luminaire is designed with the context and time in which we live very much in mind: the basic human need to remain in control, while at the same time allowing for flexible, personalised modularity. The design combines any number of modules with two types of LED units – a spotlight that provides direct illumination, and a glass globe with soft, dispersed illumination.

Stellar is designed as an object floating in space and allows for expansion in all three dimensions. It is suitable for both small and large spaces using just a single module with an unlimited number of geometric assemblies to form a unified whole.

The system employs eco-friendly LED lamps with a colour temperature of 2800 K. In plain and simple user language that means the luminaire issues a warm, comforting light, and thanks to LED technology power consumption is minimal and the unit’s life cycle far longer.

And environmentally friendly materials abound: the tubular structure is made of aluminium and the illuminating globe is fashioned from blown glass, both of which are highly durable, eco-friendly and 100% recyclable; and by saving on on electricity it also saves on resources.
