G Rocking Chair

The rocking chair has been with us for centuries – to which many a design is surely to return in the days to come. This simple rocking chair is made from tubular steel bent to form elegant and functional curves. The final shape of the tubular steel has a dual purpose: it creates the supporting structure and makes the rocking motion possible. The seating element and backrest are formed by stretching rope back and forth between the structural tubular structure. So back to basics.

The simplicity of the design and the equally simple choice of just two materials allows for endless customisation – and facilitates easy sourcing, which will become increasingly important. What’s more, the user is able to repair or replace any part of the chair, which gives rise to its long service life and makes it a highly sustainable piece of furniture.
