The Grand Duchy’s premier music festival takes place over three days at the Herchesfeld site near Roeser, just a few kilometres outside the capital city. This year’s headliners include Bastille, Kraftklub (photo), Rise Against, Wu-Tang Clan, Muse and Alt-J, while other acts to watch out for include Kate Tempest, Eagles of Death Metal and Belgian favourites BRNS. Younger fans will also enjoy rising US stars Echosmith and German rapper Kontra K. The Mexican born musician has developed one of the most recognisable guitar sounds around over a career that spans more than 40 years. Since making a breakthrough at the legendary Woodstock festival, Santana has gone on to record numerous hits and work with other greats in the music business including Michael Jackson, Herbie Hancock, Shakira, John Lee Hooker and Eric Clapton. Last year he released a Spanish-language album, Corazón. Ce musicien né au Mexique a créé l’un des sons de guitare les plus reconnaissables au fil d’une carrière de plus de 40 ans. Devenu célèbre lors du légendaire festival de Woodstock, Santana a ensuite enregistré de nombreux tubes et travaillé avec d’autres géants de l’industrie musicale, dont Michael Jackson, Herbie Hancock, Shakira, John Lee Hooker et Eric Clapton. Il a sorti l’année dernière un album en espagnol, Corazón.
Just a couple of inches taller than Kylie Minogue, American singer Anastacia was once dubbed “the little lady with the big voice”. It is now 15 years since she burst on to the pop scene with her hit ‘Not That Kind’. She has survived two breast cancer scares and in 2014 released a comeback album, Resurrection. Now she headlines the Rock Um Knuedler free festival, with a wealth of Luxembourg bands also on the bill. À peine plus grande que Kylie Minogue, la chanteuse américaine Anastacia a été surnommée « la petite dame à la grande voix ». Il y a 15 ans, elle faisait une entrée fracassante sur la scène pop avec son tube ‘Not That Kind’. Elle a survécu à deux cancers du sein et, en 2014, a sorti l’album de son retour, Resurrection. Elle sera en tête d’affiche au festival gratuit Rock Um Knuedler, aux côtés de nombreux groupes luxembourgeois.
