MISSION Depuis 19 ans maintenant, Mtl en Arts célèbre la culture, la créativité et le talent montréalais avec un festival de 5 jours au coeur du Village et en plein air ! Nous sommes fiers de mettre en vedette plus de 150 artistes en arts visuels avec une exposition d’envergure ainsi qu’à travers une multitude d’activations artistiques interactives éparpillés sur plus d’un kilomètre de la rue Sainte-Catherine.
For 19 years now, Mtl en Arts has celebrated Montreal’s culture, creativity and talent with a 5 day outdoor festival in the heart of the Village! We are proud to showcase over 150 visual artists in a massive exhibition as well as a multitude of interactive art activations spread out accross more than a kilometre on Sainte-Catherine Street.

Accessible à tous, Mtl en Arts est une occasion unique d’aller à la rencontre d’artistes en arts visuels. S’ajoutant aux 160 artistes de disciplines variées qui vous attendent pour cette 19e édition, une murale sera également réalisée sous vos yeux. Valérie Plante Mtl en Arts is a unique event that showcases visual artists to the delight of one and all. During the 19th edition of this festival, not only can you rub shoulders with 160 artists from varied disciplines, but you can also watch a mural unfold before your eyes. This new artwork that will beautify our landscape is made possible by the Ville de Montréal’s Mural Arts Program. Keep an eye out for it!

Chaque été, Mtl en Arts réunit près d’une centaine d’artistes professionnels et de la relève dans un parcours d’exposition de plus d’un kilomètre sur la rue Sainte-Catherine. L’expo-vente est un échantillonnage éclectique et varié de ce qui se fait en arts visuels ici et ailleurs où les festivaliers ont la chance de rencontrer et d’échanger avec leurs artistes préférés ! ©René Bellefeuille
Exposition en deux temps (rotation d’artistes) : EXPO 1 / Mercredi 27 juin au jeudi 28 juin EXPO 2 / Vendredi 29 juin, samedi 30 juin et dimanche 1er juillet Every Summer, Mtl en Arts gathers close to a hundred professionnal and up-and-coming artists together in a kilometer-wide outdoor exhibition on Sainte-Catherine street. The expo and sale constitutes a broad and eclectic sampling of the visual arts being produced here and abroad where the festival-goers get to meet and share with their favourite artists!

Venez déguster une délicieuse bière Archibald au bar, danser sur la musique endiablée de Tupi Collective et admirer nos six peintres en direct alors qu’ils réinterprètent leur œuvre préférée de l’exposition. Un encan silencieux aura lieu tout au long de la soirée pour accueillir vos mises sur les tableaux, si rien ne vous tappe a l’oeil, un simple don au festival contribue à assurer son bon fonctionnement et par le fait, encourage la communauté artistique montréalaise! THIS YEAR, IT’S BETWEEN THE WALLS OF THE ‘‘GALERIE BLANC’’ EXHIBITION FROM AIRES LIBRES THAT WE CELEBRATE THE 19TH EDITION OF THE FESTIVAL. Come enjoy a delicious Archibald beer at our cash bar, dance on the fiery beats of Tupi Collective and admire our six live painters as they reinterpret their chosen artwork from the exhibition. A silent auction will take place so you can bid on your favourite paintings. If nothing catches your eye, a simple donation to the festival contributes in keeping the festival up and running and helps make montreal’s extraordinairy art scene flourish!

CRÉATION D’UNE NOUVELLE MURALE PERMANENTE DANS LE VILLAGE L’artiste Dodo Ose ajoutera des couleurs au Village et créera une nouvelle murale sous le thème de « l’inclusion », au croisement de la rue Sainte-Catherine et rue Visitation, sur le mur du restaurant Steak House Village. Dodo Ose, du collectif Ashop mélange les techniques de peinture et de graffiti, son style est à la fois surréaliste, romantique, onirique et surtout poétique, associant le figuratif à l’imaginaire. REMERCIEMENTS : Mtl en Arts souhaite remercier le Programme d’art mural de la Ville de Montréal, volet 2, l’organisme à but non lucratif Kolab ainsi que le propriétaire du Restaurant le Steak-Frites Village pour la réalisation de ce projet. CONFÉRENCE DE L’ARTISTE Vendredi 29 juin de 21 h à 22 h au parc de l’Espoir (Coin Panet / Ste-Catherine) CREATION OF A NEW PERMANENT MURAL IN THE VILLAGE The Artist Dodo Ose will add colours to the Village and create a new mural depicting the theme of ‘‘inclusion’’ at the corner of Sainte-Catherine Street and Visitation Street, on the Steak House Village restaurant’s wall. Dodo Ose, from the Ashop collective mixes painting and graffiti techniques, his style is at once surrealist, romantic, dreamlike and above all poetic, associating the figurative with the imaginary. DEUX MURALES ÉPHÉMÈRES CRÉES POUR SOUTENIR L’ACCUEIL BONNEAU. Deux murales de 16’ de large par 8’ de haut seront créées en direct par les duos d’artistes : Melsa Montagne et Véronique Buist, et HSIX et Scribe. Les œuvres seront inspirées du thème de « la reconstruction d’une vie face à l’itinérance ». Des reproductions numériques de qualité, signées et numérotées par les artistes, seront disponibles en pré-vente sur place et sur notre site internet après le festival au prix de 65 $. 50 % ventes seront remis à l’Accueil Bonneau. TWO EPHEMERAL MURALS CREATED TO SUPPORT THE BONNEAU RECEPTION ! Two 16’ wide by 8’ high murals will be painted live by artist duos Melsa Montagne and Véronique Buist, and HSIX and Scribe. The art will be inspired by the theme of ‘‘rebuilding a life in the face of homelessness’’. Prints of the finished pieces signed will be available pre-sale on site and on our website after the festival for $65. 50% sales will be given to the Accueil Bonneau.
