aldi’s is a family restaurant, function suite and lounge situated on the A8 at the Baillieston interchange, just after the traffic lights. The location is approximately one mile from Daldowie Crematorium with easy access just off the M73 and M74 motorways. We have a large private car park and disabled facilities. Organising a funeral is a difficult time, so here at Kaldi’s we pride ourselves by offering a private function area that is tasteful for funeral arrangements.
Families can invite friends and other family members to have a purvey in either our function suite or private room. We can cater for between 20 - 200 people and offer three types of purveys for you to choose from. Here at Kaldi’s we understand a funeral is a ceremony for celebrating, respecting and remembering the life of a person who has died - it is a very sad time and we would like to offer our experience to make it a little easier. Why do you think Italian Cuisine is so popular in the West of Scotland. There is no doubt that Italian food is one of the most popular cuisines across the world, especially in the west of Scotland. Most restaurants have at least one Italian dish on their menu such as pizza or pasta. They are cooked in various styles with common ingredients like vegetables, fruit, olive oil, cheese, cereals and wine. In my opinion Italian food has great nutritional value and taste.

IT’S YOURS TO CLAIM, SO MAKE SURE YOU DO... From April 2016, the new flat rate state pension is £148.40 per week for those who qualify, so still time to check what entitlement you have. In my experience though, apathy unfortunately has a large part to play when it comes to retirement planning. The old adage “I’ll do it tomorrow” is commonly heard and without exception, unless a member of a well-run final salary scheme, [and how many of those still exist] individuals really have to start planning well in advance. The crucial starting point in the planning process is to ascertain your level of state pension entitlement. Completion of DWP BR19 form will, through national insurance contribution records, provide a projected state pension at your retirement date. If you have gaps in your National Insurance contribution record, any shortfall can be made-up through class 3 voluntary NI contributions and setting up a direct debit takes care of this. Commonly, women have longer career breaks say to bring up children, and this will inevitably create a shortfall in NI contributions, but class 3 voluntary NI contributions during long-periods out of work will ensure full state pension entitlement later in life. By April 2016, you need at least 10 qualifying years on your National Insurance record to get any State Pension, and 35 qualifying years to get the full amount, between 10 and 35 qualifying years a 14 | M80 Magazine
proportionate amount is paid. To augment state pension, plan well ahead and adopt a common sense approach. Males born on or after 6 April 1951, and woman after 6 April 1953, can consider reviewing and rearranging existing capital available to ensure they are invested in tax-efficient low-cost income producing funds through the most suitable tax wrappers, many of which will produce “tax-free or tax-deferred” regular monthly income payments. For married couples, ensure investments are arranged appropriately to utilise personal allowances as [including pension income] this will provide circa £20,000 tax-free income. For younger clients, our wealth management programme firstly establishes state pension entitlement, based on NI record, detailed riskprofiling, then cash-flow projections which forecast future income requirements using a simple formula including salary increase and RPI etc. Cash-flow modeling basically ensures the individual will never run out of money/income in later life. MONTHLY RECIPE
Beef Wellington INGREDIENTS 15g dried mixed wild mushrooms 250g button chestnut mushrooms, finely chopped 20g unsalted butter 2 shallots, peeled and finely chopped 1 clove garlic, crushed 1/2 tsp thyme leaves 3 tbsp single cream 10 pitted black olives, sliced
METHOD
2 tbsp chopped parsley
1. Soak the dried mushrooms
500g piece of lean Scotch beef fillet (middle cut) 8 slices Parma ham (prosciutto) or 1x 90g pack sliced Prosciutto Serves

Prep. time 15 minutes Cooking time 60 hours
in warm water for 20 mins then drain and squeeze out any remaining moisture, and finely chop them.
2. Soften the shallots and
garlic in the butter and oil in a broad based pan over a gentle heat until transparent, but not brown (5mins). Then add all the chopped mushrooms, increase the heat slightly and fry for about 10 mins until all the moisture is evaporated. Add the thyme leaves and just a hint of salt and pepper. Add the cream, stir, and remove from the heat. Cool a little then chop in a food processor to form a fine paste but still with some texture.
3. Heat the oven to 190°C

Lightly season the fillet then sear it on all sides in a very hot non-stick pan with no oil (5-6 mins) Cool.
4. Oil a sheet of baking
parchment then overlay the ham slices, 2 across (widthways) and 4 down to make a sheet that will wrap all the way round the meat.
5. Spread the mushroom paste evenly over this, leaving a margin on the short ends to tuck under the joint. Sprinkle the parsley and olives over this.
6. Place the meat at one side of the prosciutto ‘blanket’ and with the help of the paper roll up the beef and transfer to a roasting tin,carefully removing the paper. Put in the oven for 30-40 mins for a medium rare result.
Serving Tip Allow the meat to rest for 10 mins before cutting into thick slices.

DIY BODY SCRUB!
Mix olive oil and a little sugar to a paste and massage all over paying particular attention to elbows knees & feet. Rub excess sugar off with a dry towel & massage a little more olive oil into skin. Leave to marinate overnight and cook for 20 mins gas mark... Kidding! Leave the oil on overnight and your skin will be glowing in the morning! Cheap & cheerful!

Pick out your best features using highlighter along the cheekbones, down the centre of the face, under the brow arch & at the cupids bow. If you are a cooler skin tone opt for a pinkie silvery highlighter or if you’re a warmer skin go for a golden tone.

Start by gently exfoliating then moisturise the lips. Line and fill the lip with a matching pencil. Apply lipstick and blend with a lip brush, blot with tissue and repeat. A light dusting of powder will give a sexy matte finish. Or add a touch of gloss in the centre of the lower lip. TOP TIP No.1!!
