Well, this is my first official article as the new President, and moving forward, I want you all to know that I will do my best to keep the articles interesting and informative. First, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the membership for accepting me as the new President of the LRBA, a position I am very honored to fill. Second, the members should know that I understand the big shoes I will be filling, not only the most recent past President, Nick Green, but all past Presidents before him. The LRBA is, what it is today, because of the efforts of these people, and for that I say “THANK YOU”. I would also like to mention Brenda and Sharon, the job they do with all things for the LRBA is nothing short of outstanding and I will be leaning on them as I move along through my term. Lastly, I have met many fantastic people through my involvement with the LRBA, but I know there are a large number of members I haven’t had the pleasure of getting to know. For those of you I have yet to meet, I look forward to that chance, SO COME TO MEETINGS, GET INVOLVED, we have a great time and you might just go home with a little extra scratch in your pocket. V iew MY Brenda Eidenschink Hello members, Hope everyone is enjoying this mild winter and keeping busy with work. Sharon and I have been very busy putting on Continuing Education classes and now we are revving into full gear working on all of the Home & Sport Show details. We are very excited to bring in Matt Fox, who used to be on HGTV for 14 years with the show “Room by Room”, so spread the word. I have a request of all of you, our membership has been declining and if each of you could talk with your fellow subs or new businesses, that you might know of, that might be interested in joining the Association. Sometimes people just need to be asked. Please let us know if you would like any information that you would like to give them, as we have several handouts that have a lot of good information about the benefits. We had a wonderful time at the Christmas party in January. Lots of camaraderie with everyone that night. Thank you to Ellie, Linda, Skye and Sarah for helping with all of the planning of the party. If you weren’t there you missed a fun night! Welcome to our new and returning board members for the next term. Tom White in-coming President, Troy Fingalson and Kathy Michaelson, our new board members. We are looking for volunteers for the following categories for the Home & Sport show. Many hands are needed to make the show a success. Even if you are not having a booth in the show, we would still like to see you volunteer for something, as people are needed & the revenue made on the show is what help keeps the Association running. We need our members to be involved. Please contact us to sign up for one of these groups. Letter from the editor What a great Christmas Party/Annual Meeting! Too bad for anyone that was not there. There were fun games that were played, great piano music during dinner, then more games with “Steal a Gift” and Pictionary. We will be calling for lots of help for the Home Show: set-up, tear down and the Silent Auction. We also will have a Plumbing EXPO coming in April. We are looking for ideas for our Spring – May/June picnic. SHARON If you have any ideas, please give us a call. WESTERHOLM We are also looking for an alternate delegate for state meetings. An alternate will go, if one of the regular delegates can’t make it. If you might be interested call the office and I can talk to you about it. Until next month Sharon Westerholm
