"Come on girls, stay focused , and lets make history," remark ed Coach Tracy Strauffer
Thats exactly what girls swim team did. Northeast has never beaten Southeast and Millard North until this year. Those were some of Stauffer's goals Unfortunately he won't be with us next year
Sir Stauffer sir, which is a nickname used by most of the girls on the swim team, is moving to the new high school of Millard West to be the Aquatics Director there Sir Stauffer feels good about his future, but he feels that it is tough to leave a program that he has built. He also feels it is hard to lea ve friends and all the people he has worked with When asked the most memorable part of his last year he replied that it was the girls record and the individual accomplishments
A lot of funny things happened during his coaching career. One of the funniest things was, after a swim team party, the guys got a hold of his car keys and filled his car with a bunch of popcorn, chips, and cookies. It was scattered all over his car and it took him two hours to clean it all out.
The hardest part of coaching for Stauffer was getting kids to believe they can go to the next level. Sir Stauffer feels lucky to be a swim coach and bei n g a part of his swimmer's lives made him a better person .
The girls that qualified for State were Stephanie Geiger, Analisa Prior, Melissa Ulrich, Ellen Schroth, Kristina Nevius, Danae Schwaderer, Erin Westphalen , and Deb Milam. The divers are Amy Kumpla and Amy Hromas
