National Guard

National Guard club took a trip to the fair grounds to see what the real National Guard was like in December .

They learned many different things including map configurations and all about the different guns used in the Guard

Along with lessons the y also enjoyed scarfing down pizza and playing the many different games set up for their enjoyment .

National Guard was also able to travel down to Hastings this year and also received the chance to shoot a laser guided missile on a simulator right here in the science wing!

Academic Decathalon

The Northeast Academic Decathlon team competed in the regional competition in Omaha on January 21.

There were seven e v ents that the team took part in : Science, Math , Literature, Fine Arts, Economics, Social Science, and Super Quiz. The team was divided up into smaller teams which they competed in

They competed as individuals, but for a team scor e There were ten other schools at the competition and Northeas t placed fifth

The club met about every two weeks plus the members did a lot of practicing on their own.

They also participated in a Quiz Bowl held at Peru State College on April 3

Strength Club

The Strength Club learned the proper techniques to lifting

This year one of their main events included guest speakers Dave Medina and BrianBusteen whocameinandshowed the members the proper way to dead lift.

"I started at the very beginning with wearing a belt and showed them every thing they needed to know about how to dead lift properly," said Dave Medina

Last years club sponsored a lifting contest and they tried to get one together this year but it didn't happen The members of the club also received free T-shirts for surpassing their weight class goals 192/C{u6s

Difference Makers Club

Think there are problems here at Northeast? Well the Difference Makers Club is here to help solve some of these problems.

"We hear about problems or concerns from students in the halls and classrooms and discuss what we can do to solve some of these problems, " explained Adam Duhachek, member of the difference makers club.

The club ' s sponsors are Mrs. Muehlhausen and Ms. Veomett, and according to Adam they are pretty cool. There are no presidents or other officials so it is a pretty laid back environment.

But despite the fact that this club didn ' t ha v e much practice, if a problem pop 's up , count on every member of the Difference Makers Club to do their best to get those problems solved .

ABC Club

This year was the first year for the All Because of Christ Club, or better known as the ABC Club The club tried to meet at least once a week during mentor.

Students had an idea for this club last year and asked Mr . Cornwell to sponsor it, for this year.

When the group holds a meeting they pick a topic of discussion, which was usually taken from scriptures or a passage from the Bible. Then they talked about ways they could become better Christians

Every month there was a rally in Palmyra. Clubs similar to ABC Club in other schools in Lincoln and surrounding small towns attended They discussed topics and how each club was running

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Weekend of Champions. A battle of heavyweight boxers? A pie eating contest? Actually it's neither. Weekend of Champions was an overnight lock-in, held at the Grand Island High School, for members all over the state involved in FCA.

During the Weekend of Champions, the FCA members did many sports followed up by a prayer session after each game. They also listened to speakers tell stories about their life experiences . One highlight was when they thought up the top ten list with questions the judge asked jurors in the O J. Simpson trial.
