Smooth Shaving

By Danae Schwaderer

The Boys Swimming team felt it had a lot of support this season . Most of this support came from friends, parents and within the team itself Cheering really meant a lot to them. "Having a family like team is one of the strong points of the team ," says Jeff Wilber

Another strong point was their pride. Pride kept these guys swimming fast and striving for a better time. "Trying to be faster and better is what kept us going," says Bill Wheeler . Wheeler likes to participate in swimming because of the coaches, he likes to swim and wants to keep in shape. Wilber just thinks "swimming rocks."

While swimming, Wheeler concentrates on trying to beat the person next to him. Wilber concentrates on kicking, his breathing and his hand entry into the water. They do not like hearing others put their team down They feel that others don't know what swimmers go through such as morning practices, and shaving their bodies.

Both Wheeler and Wilber had some fun times. From running stairs, working hard in the water, trying to qualify for state, and also discretely borrowing stuff from other teams. The stuff that was usually borrowed included goggles, sweatshirts, swim caps and even team jackets.

The boy's that qualified for State were Tim Northup, Bill Wheeler, Jeff Wilber, and Ben Schluckebier.
