The Northeast reserves girl's basketball team dribbled their way to beating their last year's record, starting with their first victory against Papilli on What was their secret? "Communication." says sophomore Kathy Weber. Weber was injured at the beginning of the season due to a rolled ankle during a scrimage. She was unable to participate in the first three games.

Nicole Tooker also answered communication Adding to i{ Tooker said. "Encouragement was a key to the season.too."

"The Rockets biggest win was against Lincoln East By an almost unanimous vote by the basketball team , the Spartans are their biggest city rival. According to Weber. there is not a specific reason why "We just don't like them ," says Weber East beat Northeast in the first game. The Rockets described them as the most aggressively playing team Weber says, ''There were times when fouls got taken way out of hand." But that did not discourage the team, and the Rockets came back and won the second game against East

The Rockets were proud of the game they played against the team that had first defeated them "At that point we felt like we could beat anybody," says Weber. But they didn't let it get to their heads. They continued to play hard and do their best on the following games.

Wrapping up the season. Weber says, "We went out there and did our best and figured whatever happened, happened ." Other players on the team who we re also interviewed agreed.
