Tennis may not necessarily get the some attention that other sports get, but that , in no way indicates the achievement of the boys tennis teams.

Two of this year's outstanding players were seniors, Derek Trutno and Jeff Adams. Trutno soys there ore no weak points about the team , therefore , that makes them all strong. Senoir Jeff Adams said ; " I think that as a team we ore constantly fighting for respect from other teams , and this kept us motivated as a unit ."

Adams chose tennis not only because of it's long standing tradition of excellence, but also because he wonted to follow in his father's footsteps as a Rocket High tennis player. Trutno on the other hand chose tennis because, "It tokes the strongest guys to ploy tennis."

"Although our win/loss record wasn't that impressive, we hod a lot of close matches and improved as the season progressed . The losses were frustrating, but we built on the losses, which mode the victories even sweeter." said Jeff Adams in response to how he felt the season went.

The varsity tennis team hod a great win over Beatrice. In the bottle with the Orange Men, the score was 6 to 3, which was the Rockets highest dual score for the season.

Another one of the teams victories, and a close one, was against inter-city rival, Lincoln High This was thought to be the most memorable event of the season .

Cooch Brien Connealy feels that the young talent on the tennis teams will shine through in the future and that we w ill soon be seeing a " rockin" Rocket team
