TheLovejoyCapitalPlanningCommitteekickedoff itsfirstmeetingoftheFallthispastTuesdaynight. During this meeting, community stakeholders, along with District staff and VLK Architects, discussed feedback provided by the committee from this past Spring, as well as assessment data providedbythearchitectoverthesummer.Below isabriefrecapofthekeypointsdiscussedandan outline of the next steps as we continue to move forward. forward.
Capital Planning Committee Charge: The committee's charge was clarified, emphasizing their role in supporting the development of a comprehensiveLong-RangeFacilityPlanforLovejoyISD.
Facility Assessment Findings: VLK provided an overview of the facility assessment findings for each location in the District, focusing on mechanical,electrical,plumbing,andtrafficflowchallenges.
Renovation Approaches: We reviewed the expected life cycles of major systemsanddiscussedstrategiesforschoolandbuildingrenovations.
The next committee meeting is scheduled for early September. During this meeting,thecommitteewilldiscussthecurrentandidealstateofourstudent learningspaces.
It’sgamenight!Tonightisacelebrationofthegrit,passion,andcommitmentof our football team, band, colorguard, Majestics, athletic trainers and cheerleaders. Our students have worked countless hours to give our community a phenomenal Friday Night Lights experience. Their relentless dedicationexemplifieswhatitmeanstobeaLovejoyLeopard.
Addingtotheexcitementoftonight,wewillbeawardedthe5ALoneStarCupat halftime, and the game will be nationally televised by Bally Sports Southwest, withkickoffat7:37p.m.
LovejoyISDtakesgreatprideinhavingexemplaryacademicandaward-winning extracurricularprogramswhilemaintainingasmall-townfeel.AswefillLeopard Stadiumthisevening,thereisnodoubtthatwewillallfeelanunparalleledsense ofcommunityandconnectioncenteredonstudentopportunity.

TheEnglishdepartmentatLovejoyHighSchoollikestohavefuntoo!Thisweek theydecideditwaspinkWednesdayandblueThursday.It’sthelittlethingsthat buildthefoundationforagreatteamandfriendships.
Last week, Hart Elementary teachers Ms. Saleem and Ms. Crews collaborated with MTSS Lead Ms. Hicks to bring the scientific process to life through Vex Robots.Collaboration,Results,andFunwerethepillarstothislearning!
Ms. Stewart, Puster Elementary Librarian, challenged students to summer reading: 50 books or 500 minutes! Emphasizing the importance of summer reading in retaining literacy skills and fostering a lifelong love of learning, Ms. Stewart’schallengewasmetwithenthusiasm,withover100studentsrisingto theoccasion.
Their reward?!! Each student who reached the goal a coveted golden book vending machine coin. But the excitement didn’t stop there second grade emergedasthetopparticipatinggradeandcelebratedwithapopsicleparty!
And since reading is as sweet as pie, Ms. Stewart promised an unforgettable reward:studentswhometthechallengewereenteredintoadrawingtopieher in the face during Thursday’s Puster Pride celebration! We are deeply grateful for educators like Ms. Stewart, whose creativity and commitment to literacy makelearninganengagingandjoyfulexperienceforallLovejoyISDstudents.
Puster families and staff came together this week to create connections and buildrelationshipswithinourschoolcommunityduringadelightfulIceCream Social hosted by Puster PTO. It was a great night filled with laughter, connection,andcommunity.Families,teachers,andstudentsenjoyedaspecial icecreamsundae,apicturebooth,carlineauction,andplaygroundtime.

On Wednesday, August 28th Lovejoy High School held its annual Club Fair beforeandafterSchoolintheLHSLibrary.Over55student-led,non-curricular clubs participated. The LHS Club Fair offers Leopards the opportunity to exploreadiversegroupofclubs,meetnewfriends,andcelebrateengagingclub opportunities!

LJVAseniorandLHSGallerymanagerHannahGapp(‘25)wasrecentlyfeatured at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center for the 18th Annual Juried Art Exhibition Aug 2 - Sept. 7. Members of the Texas Artist Coalition; a program whose mission is to support the career development of emerging and established artists, were selected as exemplars of utilizing alternative and contemporarymethodsofcreation.
WeareincrediblyproudofHannahforbeingselectedforthisprestigioushonor and for representing LJVA in her professional pursuits as an artist. Being selected amongst professional working artists and post-graduate students speakstoherincredibleartisticvisionandmaturityasapainter.
