His friends started walking in, so he went back to his desk and pulled out his supplies for the day. Leo thought to himself, “I sure do love learning,” just as his teacher posted the schedule on the white board.

“Reading, Math, Specials and Science today, said one of Leo’s classmates.”

“Today we will learn about our school’s graduate profile,” said Leo’s teacher.

WHATNUMBER ISMISSING?

After recess, Leo and his friends went back to the classroom, excited to learn more. Today, they were working on addition. The teacher asked the class, “What number is missing? 1, 2, 3, _, 5” Leo was open to the challenges of learning. He raised his hand, and after being called on, proudly said “the number 4 is missing.” He was right!

Leo’s friends decided to join him.

“Exercising helps me stay focused in school,” said one of Leo’s friends.

As the class lined up after P.E., Leo’s teacher asked, “How can we be helpful to others by working for justice in the community?”

With this in mind, Leo walked into the cafeteria and noticed the custodian, Mr. Joy, picking up trash. Leo was kind enough to help clean up.

Leo noticed other students in the cafeteria also making kind choices to help Mr. Joy. They saw trash on the cafeteria floor that was not theirs and threw it in the trash can. That made Mr. Joy smile.

Leo’s teacher then announced to the class that they would be leaving for Specials, music class! Leo was reminded that specials, like music, are part of being well-rounded.

After a long day of learning and fun, Leo wanted to live the Leopard Way everyday!
