CHARTING PROGRESS DRIVING IMPACT

As we look back over the past few months, I’m both encouraged and energized by the momentum we’re building together.

At the Longview Chamber, we don’t just talk about driving change— we organize, mobilize, and deliver results. Our focus remains clear: strengthen business, develop talent, and champion regional prosperity.

One major initiative underway is the upcoming InterCity Leadership Trip to Lynchburg, Virginia. These trips are not vacations—they’re strategic missions. With over 30 business and civic leaders already committed, we’ll be learning from a city that has successfully tackled downtown revitalization, innovation-driven workforce strategies, and public-private partnerships.

The goal? Bring back bold, actionable ideas to accelerate our own transformation.

Workforce development continues to be front and center. We’ve launched the groundwork for an East Texas Workforce Roadmap focused on skills-based hiring—pulling together a steering committee of cross-sector leaders to ensure alignment between industry, education, and opportunity. Our efforts to grow partnerships through LongviewREADS! and LongviewMATH are also gaining traction, with a renewed focus on employer engagement and third-grade reading and math mastery.

In public policy, we are actively advocating for pro-business legislation, including efforts to secure tariff exclusions for small business importers and restore skills funding in federal economic packages. These conversations—at the state and national level—are essential to protecting our region’s competitiveness.

We’re also investing in our future leaders. Programs like 40 Under 40, Leadership Longview, and our Leadership Alumni Network continue to build a pipeline of connected, capable changemakers. These aren’t just “programs”—they are catalysts for retention, professional growth, and community loyalty.

Finally, we’re preparing for the Total Resource Campaign (TRC) kickoff. This annual effort funds the mission of

your Chamber—supporting events, programs, advocacy, and outreach. It’s not just a fundraiser—it’s a platform for connection, promotion, and long-term business success.

As always, thank you for your support and partnership. Together, we are shaping a stronger Longview.

LONGVIEW READS!

CONNECTING BUSINESS TO CLASSROOMS FOR LITERACY SUCCESS

Reading by third grade is one of the strongest predictors of a child’s future success, but far too many students in our region are falling behind. The consequences extend beyond the classroom: they impact our workforce, economy, and community vitality.

That’s why the Longview Chamber launched LongviewREADS!, a bold initiative that brings businesses and classrooms together to close the literacy gap and strengthen our talent pipeline.

WHY IT MATTERS

Students who aren't reading on grade level by third grade are four times more likely to drop out of high school. We can’t afford to wait until high school to act—we must start now, and we must start early. Literacy is not just an education issue—it’s a workforce issue.

THE BUSINESS SOLUTION

LongviewREADS! gives local employers a direct role in shaping tomorrow’s workforce by:

7 Adopting classrooms in partnership with local elementary schools

7 Encouraging employees to volunteer as monthly classroom readers

7 Donating books, literacy materials, or classroom celebration kits

7 Supporting teachers and students with meaningful engagement

THE BENEFITS FOR EMPLOYERS

7 Boost employee morale through purpose-driven service

7 Demonstrate community leadership and social responsibility

7 Receive recognition through the Big Red Apple Award at the Chamber’s State of Workforce Luncheon

7 Create early visibility and impact for your brand

7 Support future workforce readiness

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Getting started is easy—and entirely in your hands. Visit www. LongviewREADS.com to explore a list of local schools and their contact information. From there:

1. Choose a school that aligns with your business's community or employee interests.

2. Reach out directly to the campus contact to adopt a classroom or offer support.

3. Let us know you’re participating so we can celebrate your impact! For questions contact Kelly Hall at khall@longviewtx.com

Thank You to Our REACH Team Volunteers

Celebrating Connection:

AT THE LONGVIEW CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, BUILDING CONNECTIONS IS AT THE HEART OF EVERYTHING WE DO — AND NO ONE LIVES THAT MISSION OUT BETTER THAN OUR REACH TEAM VOLUNTEERS.

The REACH Team plays a vital role in helping new and existing members feel welcomed, supported, and connected to the Chamber’s network and resources. Whether it's greeting guests at events, helping at ribbon cuttings, or reaching out to check in with members, these volunteers serve as the friendly faces of the Chamber—making sure every business knows they have a partner in their corner.

“Volunteering with the Longview Chamber REACH Team was an important step in my professional development. It not only strengthens important skills and relationships, but it also provides influential opportunities that help strengthen the community. Those opportunities span from bringing business and exposure to local small businesses and non-profit organizations that make up our community. It truly provides the opportunity to positively impact the community from the ground up.” - Roberto Monsivais

“Proud to support growth, connection, and innovation happening through our chamber.” - Angela Hanley

“I like being on the Reach Team because one of my goals is to serve others.” - Sugey Garcia

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” - Genaea Tatum

Throughout the year, REACH Team members go above and beyond to ensure new members feel plugged in and long-time members stay engaged. Their efforts help businesses build meaningful relationships, discover new opportunities, and fully leverage the benefits of Chamber membership.

“Serving on the Chamber REACH Team has been one of the most rewarding opportunities. It is a pleasure to be able to connect with other businesses and network through servant leadership to help our community grow. The relationships I have been able to make and foster through volunteering has been instrumental both personally and professionally. The Chamber is a great resource for our community and its business partners. It truly believes in promoting Longview and Gregg County and being a positive impact within East Texas.” - Leslie Paull

We want to take this opportunity to say thank you to each of our REACH Team volunteers. Your commitment to helping us foster a welcoming and connected business community is what makes Longview stronger.

Want to Get Involved?

The REACH Team is open to any Chamber member who wants to build relationships, expand their network, and help support the success of fellow members. If you enjoy connecting with people and representing the Chamber, this is a great way to make a difference while growing your own visibility in the community.

Let’s continue to build a stronger, more connected Longview—together.

Building Business, Building Longview: Get Involved in the 2025 Total Resource Campaign

Each fall, the Longview Chamber of Commerce kicks off its Total Resource Campaign (TRC), a dynamic, relationship-driven effort that helps businesses find the right sponsorship and marketing opportunities for the coming year. Led by a dedicated team of chamber volunteers, TRC runs from early September through December and serves as a key resource for connecting member businesses with the tools they need to promote their brand, engage with the community, and grow their business.

2TRC isn’t just about selling sponsorships, it’s about building relationships and helping businesses align their marketing investments with their unique goals. Through one-on-one conversations, volunteers work with local business leaders to understand their vision, identify opportunities, and develop a custom marketing plan that meets their needs. These sponsorships help fund chamber programs and events while giving businesses the visibility and connections they’re looking for.

If you’d like to learn more about volunteering or sponsorship opportunities through TRC, contact Morgan Wilcox at mwilcox@longviewtx.com or 903-237-4000

CHAMBER

Champions

MEMBERS MAKING THE MOST OF THEIR INVESTMENT

At the Longview Chamber of Commerce, we love to recognize members, both big and small, who not only join the Chamber but fully invest in the opportunities it provides. These are our Chamber Champions — businesses that show up, get involved, and grow their impact by supporting the Chamber’s mission and the Longview business community.

From Small Businesses to Industry Leaders

No matter the size of your company, making the most of your Chamber investment starts with engagement. Two standout members, one large and one small, are perfect examples of how commitment to connection and community creates lasting value.

TEXAS BANK & TRUST

Leading Through Action and Investment

A legacy supporter of the Longview Chamber, Texas Bank & Trust goes above and beyond. Not only do they consistently participate by sending employees to programs like 40 Under 40, Leadership Longview, and the REACH Team, they also fill tables at luncheons, Business After Hours, and other networking events.

But they don’t stop there. Texas Bank & Trust is also one of the Chamber’s most dedicated sponsors, investing their dollars right here in Longview. Their sponsorships help the Chamber continue its mission to support local businesses, provide education and advocacy, and create a stronger economy for everyone. They believe in keeping their money in the community they call home—and that kind of leadership makes a lasting impact.

TAMALOCOS MEXICAN RESTAURANT

Small Business, Big Engagement

Tamalocos Mexican Restaurant, owned by Andres & Sugey Garcia-Hernandez, shows how small businesses can make a big difference. From day one, they have been all in — attending Business After Hours, luncheons, and joining the REACH Team to network and engage with fellow members. Their commitment to learning, showing up, and connecting has helped them grow their business and build relationships that matter.

Why It Matters

Businesses like Texas Bank & Trust and Tamalocos remind us that membership is what you make it. The more you engage, the more you grow. By participating, sponsoring, and supporting, these members not only strengthen their own businesses but also help build a healthier, more vibrant Longview.

Whether you're a major employer or a small local business, there’s a place for you at the Chamber... and a path to becoming a CHAMBER Champion.

Longview Chamber Joins Texas Compact on Civility to Champion Respectful Engagement and Prosperity

We are proud to announce its participation in the Texas Compact on Civility and Stability, joining a growing coalition of business, nonprofit, and civic leaders committed to fostering respectful public discourse and community well-being across the Lone Star State.

By signing the Compact, the Chamber affirms its commitment to five guiding principles: championing civility, encouraging respectful disagreement, upholding Texas’s welcoming tradition, promoting stability for prosperity, and leading by example.

“Our decision to sign the Texas Compact on Civility reflects our deep belief that communities thrive when dialogue is respectful, leadership is responsible, and people feel safe and welcome,” said Kelly Hall, President/CEO of the Longview Chamber. “Civility is not a weakness— it is the strength that sustains trust, builds collaboration, and drives economic progress.”

The Compact recognizes that Texas’s strength lies in its diversity and resilience. In joining this statewide effort, the Chamber aims to model the kind of leadership that transcends division, encourages thoughtful discussion, and promotes a stable environment where businesses and families can flourish.

“As we look toward Longview’s future, we know that stability and civility are essential to building a strong workforce, attracting investment, and preserving the character that makes East Texas a great place to live and do business,” added Hall.

Kelly Hall Appointed to U.S. Global Leadership Coalition’s Texas Advisory Committee

The Longview Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that President and CEO Kelly Hall has been appointed to serve on the Texas Advisory Committee of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC).

The USGLC is a bipartisan network of more than 500 businesses, non-governmental organizations, military, and civic leaders dedicated to advocating for America’s leadership in the world through strong investments in development and diplomacy. The organization includes influential partners such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Coca-Cola, Land O’Lakes, Mercy Corps, and Walmart.

As a member of the Texas Advisory Committee, Hall will join a distinguished group of leaders working to educate policymakers and the public on the

importance of the U.S. International Affairs Budget and its impact on security, prosperity, and American values. Her role will include advocating for smart global engagement, identifying key opinion leaders across the state, and participating in high-level briefings and events both in Texas and Washington, D.C.

“This appointment is an incredible honor,” said Hall. “Our region — and our state — benefit when America leads globally. I look forward to working with the USGLC to ensure our international engagement continues to support economic growth, national security, and humanitarian efforts worldwide.”
