Kalee Cautivar

Kalee Cautivar (10) recently redecorated her room this past summer. She wasn’t too fond of what her room looked like before, so she wanted to switch things up a bit. She wanted her room to have a clean, simple, and cozy style, so she painted her walls lavender and rearranged her bed, desk, and other possessions. She says that she wanted to feel refreshed when she walked into her room. She also wanted her room to be welcoming. Her favorite thing in her room is the stuffed animal that her brother bought her from Korea.

Haley Dugaduga

Haley Dugaduga (11) renovated her room by herself at the beginning of quarantine. She wanted her room to be comfortable and make her happy. She also wanted to give off a minimalist feeling, but not too simple. She put many cute lights and figures on her shelves as well. It is a very Japanese inspired room. Her favorite thing about her room is the color schemes. She tried her best to buy things that stayed true to her theme. Her favorite item in her room is her LED cherry blossom tree that she uses as a night light.

Lynnae Garnet

Lynnae Garnet (11) says she paints her room sporadically. She said, “I think of cool ideas and just have at it on the first blank wall I can find!” The look she is going for is “Cartoon Chaos.” She wanted her room to be painted in a way that when you look at it, you have to take a few minutes to analyze everything that’s going on around you. Her favorite thing in her room is her computer.

Emyiah Burroughs Krupa Kanji

Emyiah Burroughs (9) was inspired to decorate her room by seeing all the nicely decorated rooms on Pinterest. She wanted her room to give off chill and cozy vibes. “As you know, we’re staying at home now and most of our time is being spent in our rooms, so I wanted it to be a chill environment,” she said. Burroughs is continuously adding accessories and embellishments to her room day by day. Her favorite thing about her room is her tapestry on the ceiling. Krupa Kanji (10) decorated her room with her family around two years ago. She wanted a nice space that fits her personality. She wanted a simple room with one color scheme and decided on light pink. Her favorite part about her room are all her small decorations that make her room personal.

McKenna Davari

McKenna Davari (12) wanted her room to give off indie anime vibes. She wanted the style to have a mix of anime art from different shows to show the contrast in artwork. She started decorating her room with anime posters and pictures from her favorite scenes last September. Davari was inspired to decorate her room because of her love for anime. The aesthetics across the many different shows she’s seen has greatly influenced how she wanted to decorate her room. She also used multiple Pinterest boards for inspiration on how to lay out her posters. Her favorite thing in her room is her manga shelf which includes her manga, anime figures, and glass art that she has created of her favorite characters.

Lia Hutchins

Lia Hutchins (9) has always loved antiques and things that look old, so throughout the years she found herself becoming more and more into the style, so wanted her room to fit it. Her room aesthetic is a combination between dark academia and a hint of light and royalty. She redecorated her room a year ago and now she loves how it looks. Her favorite thing has to be her desk area. She tried her best to find things to perfect the “back in the day” look. She also really liked her old photos and books.
