Christmas is a time of goodwill. It’s a time to put your feet up in front of the fire and enjoy that chocolate orange.
Unfortunately for many it can become a nightmare of loneliness and stress. To help you avoid the dark side here’s your Christmas List, full of great things to do in your neighbourhood.

Christmas is also a time of massive over consumption. I know from personal experience how easy it is to eat and drink too much over the festive season.
And then it takes ages to recover!
A short lived festive binge can lead to hard to shake off problems in January! So my Christmas resolution this year is to go easy on the turkey, ration out the roasties and cut down on the chocolate... and to be fit enough to celebrate New Year’s Eve in style.
When there’s a sunny day, I’ll be on my bike, cycling Lytham to Fleetwood and enjoying the fantastic finished prom and admiring our sea defences.

The Roman festival of Sol Invictus (Unconquered Sun) was held on 25th December to celebrate the passing of midwinter and the beginning of longer days. Sol Invictus comes nine months after March 25 - the vernal equinox, which celebrates a festival of fertility and is regarded as the day of Christ’s conception.
