President’s Letter

Hello Team Loyalty,

Welcome to the month of March. It is crazy to me that after this month the year is 25% over, how time flies? We have had a great start to the year and need to capitalize on every opportunity. Tax season has started, and I do not believe it will last as long as it has in years past, but we still need to take advantage of this time of year. We should be focusing on sales and on creating the roll over loan or the re-write instead of the redemption. The goal is to collect the interest and keep the loan on the books. I know we can do this, loan balance, number of loans and sales are some of the keys to success in this industry both for the company and for team member bonuses.

There are some remarkable things coming to the industry. A new pawn conference format Is in the middle of this month. I will attend with my brother, Daniel, and I know we will bring back many valuable takeaways and new connections. At the end of the month California Pawnbrokers Association (CAPA) has a board meeting and a walk the halls event at the end of March. This will be the second in person board meeting I will be presiding over and the first walk the halls. The walk the halls event is one of my favorite things to do for CAPA. Several board members and vendors all come to Sacramento and our lobbyists schedule meetings in the state Capitol with as many of our legislatures as we can fit in. We educate them on our industry and ask for their support on any bills that may affect our industry. It is very enlightening for me, and I feel for the legislature as well, as many have never even been into a pawnshop. We will also host a political event in the Broadway location. We may need your help in attending. More to come on this fundraiser!

In closing, Happy St. Patrick's Day, keep up the tremendous job and most importantly stay safe at home and at work. Thank you to the Loyalty Pawn Family and stay dry hopefully this is our last cold and rainy month, bring on summer!

Gratefully,

Letter from the General Manager

Greetings Everyone,

The end of the 1st quarter is a month away! 2023 is already going too fast. We are starting to see an influx of tax money in the stores. We have mostly seen this in redeems. Sales are ticking up slightly, but our #s show that clients look forward to reuniting with their items. After close examination, we were going to be focused on stocking locations with more price point items. The company has a fair amount of high-end jewelry items for sale. However, these items seem slightly slower to move and secure on layaway. We will consciously bring in items that will secure a quicker turn rate for our clients. We are focusing on this through next quarter.

As for our top salesman, first place goes to Dominic T. Second place goes to Tony M. and third place goes to Paul M. Sales were a little light for February but we are looking forward to moving more inventory in March. Since tax money is starting to hit the stores, we should be able to move more items and start growing the layaway books again. Great job to the top three salesmen.

To conclude, we are gearing up for a strong spring and summer rebound for loan growth. Very soon the weather will be getting nicer and spring break will be here. We anticipate loan growth to help fund clients traveling this summer and purchases to stay strong. Please keep collecting the customer information cards to keep our client’s information up to date. We will soon be reaching out to our clients for further inventory likes and a digital catalog of loyalty inventory via email & text campaigns that will allow ease to our website and inventory. Thank you for your continued support and hard work.

Sincerely,

3

Loyalty Pawn Family

Greetings Loyalty Pawn Family, March is already here. I can’t believe it! And with the next wave of tax refund checks being processed this month, now is the time to remind our clients about their layaways. With clients picking up items as they see fit and attempting to redeem their loans some clients may forget to take advantage of our layaway plans. This month's promotion might be able to help raise those numbers! With 20% down and 20% off on layaways at the counter you have no excuse not to grab your favorite items while they're still on sale. This month we are going to get to know Tyrah Walls an SLA from the El Camino Location.

1. What’s your favorite way to spend a day off? On my days off I enjoy doing whatever I can with my daughter, whether it be chilling around the house and watching cartoons or taking her out to see the world. Watching her take in this new world is probably the best feeling in the world.

2. Where’s the next place on your travel bucket list and why? I would have to say West Virginia only because my best friend lives there now and it’s a long overdue trip that needs to be taken.

3. What was your favorite age growing up? I’d have to say 12. Times were so simple and it’s when I used to constantly hang out with my aunt have our girls’days.

4. Do you have a favorite holiday? Why or why not? My favorite holiday would have to be Christmas. It’s such a joyous time and the whole family always comes together. It’s a day filled with warmth, laughter and memorable times.

5. What was the last thing you read? Honestly, I have no clue. I’m in the start of a financial planning book but I don’t remember the name.

6. What was the last TV show you binge-watched? Currently re-binging George Lopez but as of fresh show, I believe it was Wednesday. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s a must see! So good!!

7. Are you into podcasts or do you only listen to music? I’ll listen to a podcast here and there but mainly into music.

8. What's one thing that can instantly make your day better? As corny as it may sound, seeing my daughter smile. I could have the worst day and it’s as if seeing that smile wipes the slate clean. She really is my pride and joy.

9. What’s one goal you have for this year personally and professionally? My main goal for this year is to get myself into shape mentally and physically. I want to lose a little weight and mentally, grow a bit more. Overall grow more as a person. Maybe go back to school. And professionally, achieve more here for the company. I want to understand the “Behind the scenes” more. Understand the inns and the outs.

10. Ideally, how would you spend your birthday? Honestly, I’m not much of a party girl so it would be to have a nice dinner and maybe grab drinks with a few friends. I just want to enjoy the time with friends and family. And of course, receive a winning lotto ticket.

11. What's your favorite board game? Uno for sure (even though it’s not much of a board game)! It’s a family game for all ages and always gets super competitive as the game progresses.

12. What’s the best way the company can celebrate you and your team for successes? Team dinners are always nice and a great way to enjoy the company of coworkers and friends without having to worry about the daily work complications.

13. What causes are you passionate about? I’m passionate about animal cruelty and police brutality as well as global warming. I feel this world needs a pretty serious change if we’re going to continue to inhabit it. it’s not like we can up and leave but…times are just so different than I remember when I was growing up.

14. What’s an essential part of your daily routine? It would have to be getting my daughter’s stuff in order. I have to wake up earlier than I would personally like to make sure she has her bottles, clothes, diapers, etc. for the day ready so that its one less thing to worry about. If I know she has everything she needs, I feel a lot better while I’m away from her.

15. Who or what inspires you in your career? My daughter is my core inspiration. I never worried much about my future but now that I have someone to care for, my world has flipped. I aspire to be better, to do better, to be the very best me I can be- for her. She deserves the world and I’m going to ensure she gets it.

4

16. What’s something an outsider wouldn’t know about your industry? I feel an outsider doesn’t see the impact truthfully of what we do here. To be able to help someone out of a financial hardship whether it be giving $10 for gas up to $2500 for rent and food feels pretty good at times. And not just that- but you meet some of the most genuine people this world has to offer in the form of coworkers. I’m not too sure what people think of us on the outside but working with who I do has made this one of the most chill, fun jobs I’ve ever had.

17. What’s the career highlight you’re most proud of? I would have to say that its being confident in what I do. When I first started here, I used to run away from helping people, always a little worried I would offer an amount too high or too low. Now, honestly, I’m very comfortable in where I stand here. I know what to look for and what to say to explain my reasoning to customers. That’s the best feeling in my book.

18. Do you believe in having a "five-year plan"? I do, but I also believe that’s what meant to will be. Meaning of course I see myself doing great things 5 years from now, but nothing is set in stone. My path always has a few forks in its road.

19. What’s the best piece of advice a family member has given you? The best advice I think I’ve ever received would have to be is that “if you can’t do anything about it, then there’s no need to stress it” I used to constantly overthink and stress on things that are out of my control. I’ve learned everything eventually works itself out and sometimes, our minds can be our worst enemy.

20. What is your definition of success? My definition of success would have to be simply put as happiness. I feel like if someone can say that they are happy in life and mean it to the fullest extent, then they’re doing something right. I feel like nowadays we take a lot for granted as individuals and don’t really embrace how far we’ve come. Life is too short in my opinion to measure success by how much money someone has or what materialistic items you have to your name. Tomorrow isn’t promised, make the most of today and I feel everything will fall into place.

Broadway

Hello Team,

This month the team at Broadway discovered an old pirate map in a defaulted loan, we all decided to follow it into an underground cavern in search of lost treasure. However, we came up against plenty of dangerous obstacles along the way. Loads of redeems and layaway pickups galore. Josh was able to overcome these obstacles and get first place in sales this month for the Broadway team.

Florin Mall

Loyalty Pawn Families,

I hope everyone is doing well and staying warm with these cold nights we have been having. Well, what is going on here at florin. We had a wonder sales day on the very last day of the month of $7k, so for the month of February Florin was able to close off the month with little over $80k in sales. Team Florin had a goal set for $85k we pushed all the way to the very last day but still fell little short. We did have some great accomplishment that happened for Team Florin for the month of February. We were able to get 64 new google review and great job to my team here for pushing. We also did a TV giveaway for that month and our winner was very happy that she was able to win it. Team Florin is pushing to get $100k in sale for the month of March. We have seen tax money coming so let capitalize on it. WE are also having a wonderful promo for march and this an also the perfect time to lock in those layaways if you cannot close the sales. Team Florin will also shoot to hit 1500 on google review for the month of March also especially with us getting our clients information and scanning the QR on the customer information card. Well let's have a great month and end the first quarter strong. Good luck to everyone.

Mark Xiong

Our Florin Mall location had a raffle drawing for a customer to win a Smart TV. To be able to enter this raffle, customers must fill out a customer information card which will update our client’s information and give us a google review regarding Loyalty Pawn’s customer service and this month our winner was Mykayla!

The Spring Equinox is on its way!

The brown buds thicken on the trees, Unbound, the free streams sing, As March leads forth across the leas The wild and windy spring.

National Umpbrella Month→ March usually marks the end of the cold months and the beginning of spring, when the trees begin to bloom again, and we can all go back outside without wearing seven jumpers. Traditionally, we celebrate the first day of spring on March 21, but astronomers and calendar manufacturers alike now say that the spring season starts on March 20th, in all time zones in North America.

MARCH…MORE THAN JUST ST PATRICK’S DAY

In 2020, spring fell on March 19th, the earliest first day of spring in 124 years! Regardless of what the weather is doing outside, spring equinox marks the official start of the spring season. In the Northern Hemisphere, the spring equinox in the Northern Hemisphere (also called the March equinox or vernal equinox across the globe) occurs when the sun crosses the celestial equator going south to north. It’s called the celestial equator because it’s an imaginary line in the sky above the Earth’s equator.

Equinoxes are the only two times each year that the Sun rises due east and sets due west for all of us on Earth! While the Sun passes overhead, the tilt oftheEarthis zero relativeto the Sun,whichmeans that the Earth’s axis neither points toward nor away from the Sun. But, however, the Earth never orbits upright, and is always tilted on its axis by about 23.5 degrees. (Source…The Old Famer’s Almanac).

International Women’s Day is March 8th!

For women all over the world, March 8th is a time to take stock and amplify our collective voice. This year, the theme for the UN International Women's Day is 'DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality. Climate change is often defined as a “threat multiplier.” For many women and girls around the world, it is also enacting, and at times creating, new limitations and obstacles in attaining basic rights. When disasters strike, they are likely to produce and reenact social, economic, and political inequalities along gendered lines. But at times, these are also generative moments that allow us to be reflective about structural inequalities, to critically assess them and to reimagine ways in which we can address them.

15

• CELEBRATION DAYS IN MARCH

March 8 is International Women’s Day, which is a day that not only celebrates the achievements of women and the progress made toward women’s rights, but also brings attention to ongoing struggles for equality around the world.

• March 12 is the start of Daylight Saving Time, which begins at 2:00 A.M. that day. Don’t forget to “spring forward” and set the clocks one hour ahead, or you may find yourself an hour late to everything!

• March 15 is the Ides of March! Legend surrounds this ill-fated day. Beware of the Ides of March!

• March 17 is St. Patrick’s Day. According to folklore, folks wear a shamrock on St. Patrick’s Day because the saint used its three leaves to explain the Trinity.

• March 20 brings about the March equinox also called the vernal or spring equinox in the Northern Hemisphere marking the beginning of spring. In the Southern Hemisphere, this date marks the autumnal equinox and the beginning of fall. On this day, the Sun stands directly over Earth’s equator.

• March 22 marks the start of Ramadan, which begins at sundown on that day. In Islam, Ramadan is considered a holy month when a month-long, sunrise-to-sunset fast is observed.

• March 29-31 are known as the Borrowing Days According to lore, the last three days of March have a reputation for being stormy. Be on the lookout!

Just for Fun March Days… Did you know that March is National Umbrella Month? Here are some more wacky things to celebrate this month:

• March 3: What If Cats and Dogs Had Opposable Thumbs Day?

• March 11: International Fanny Pack Day

• March 13: National Ear Muff Day

• March 16: National Panda Day

• March 16: Absolutely Incredible Kid Day

• March 23: World Meteorological Day

• March 31: World Backup Day

March Astronomy

The Full Worm Moon

March’s full Moon, the Worm Moon, reaches peak illumination on the morning of Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

Look for it on the evening of Monday, March 6, as the Moon rises above the horizon! In like Leo, Out like Aries!

In other words, The constellation Leo, the lion, rises in the east at the beginning of March and thus the month “comes in like a lion,” while Aries, the ram, sets in the west at the end of the month, and as such, the month “will go out like a lamb.”
