Nyugodtan mondhatjuk, hogy minden idők legerősebb hazai mezőnye sereglett össze a Zala Springsben rendezett 62. Nyílt Magyar Amatőr Golfbajnokságon. A mindent eldöntő fináléban a magyar mezőnyben újdonsült bajnokokat avattak: a bajnokság sztárja, Somogyi Bence és Magyar Kupa győzelme után, Jaczkovics Emma állhatott a dobogó legfelső fokára. A nyílt bajnokságot mindvégig kimagasló eredménnyel, a máltai Schulze-Doering Laurens (-8) és az angol Fuller Annabell (-6) uralta. Nemcsak Zala Springs kivételes adottsága, az ideális golfidő, a 104 induló hendikep statisztikája, de a háromnapos stroke play eredmények is minden bizonnyal hozzájárultak, hogy az idén először egy bajnokság keretében rendezett nyílt és magyar küzdelmek kiemelt figyelmet kapjanak hazánkban és a határon túl egyaránt. A tizennégy, köztünk hazánk legfelkészültebb versenyzőjének majdnem negyede állt pluszos hendikeppel elütőre, mely a versenyeredményeken is tükröződtek: Schulze-Doering Laurens 65-ös pályarekordja, Somogyi Bence emlékezetes hajrája és Fuller Annabell profikra emlékeztető játéka méltán járult hozzá a minden idők legerősebb hazai versenye címhez. A nemzetközi mezőnyben a Royal Malta Golf Club játékosa, Schulze-Doering Laurens (-8) szinte semmilyen mozgásteret nem adott versenytársainak. Az idei horvát és a ciprusi nyílt bajnokságok győztese már az első fordulóban kevés kétséget hagyott, hogy a nyerősorozatot Zalacsányban sem hagyja abba. Egy bemelegítő -2-es kör után a Hungarian Touron a német Breimer Leon (66) pályarekordját döntötte meg: egy bogey-nyolc birdie-vel 65-ös score-kártyát adhatott le. A máltai a harmadik körben sem engedett ki, és bár +-1-re hozta a kört, így is három ütéssel előzte meg a második helyezett Somogyi Bencét(-5). A harmadik a szlovén Cop Tomsic Nejc -1 ütéssel lett, két ütéssel előzve meg Kötél Bencét. A magyar férfi bajnoki megannyi kiváló teljesítményről, kiélezett küzdelemről tanúskodott, szinte az utolsó szakaszokig amolyan körömrágós maradt az állás, de Somogyi Bence(-5) végig nyerő szériában menetelt. A bemutatkozás is Somogyinak, no meg az ifjabb Sárközi Richárdnak sikerült +1-el a legjobban, majd Somogyi a második körben -3-al már öt ütésre növelte az akkorra bevehetetlennek tűnő előnyét. Almost a quarter of the fourteen, among us, the most prepared competitors in our country, faced

the challenge with a plus handicap, which was also reflected in the competition results: Schulze-Doering Laurens' course record of 65, Bence Somogyi's memorable finish and Annabell Fuller's game reminiscent of the pros deservedly contributed to the title of the strongest domestic competition of all time. In the international field, the player of the Royal Malta Golf Club, Schulze-Doering Laurens (-8), gave almost no room for maneuver to his competitors. The winner of this year's Croatian and Cypriot Open Championships already left little doubt in the first round that he will not stop his winning streak in Zalacsány. After a warm-up round of -2, the German Breimer Leon (66) broke the course record on the Hungarian Tour: he was able to post a score card of 65 with a bogey and eight birdies. The Maltese was not good in the third round either, although he finished the round with +1, he was still three strokes ahead of the second-placed Bence Somogyi (-5). Slovenian Cop Tomsic Nejc was third with -1 stroke, two strokes ahead of Bence Kötél.

A nyílt női bajnokságon nem született meglepetés. A magyar-angol származású, de angol színekben, 6.3 hcp-el versenyző Fuller Annabell (-6)mindvégig királynőként uralta a pályát, a kiegyensúlyozott első két kör után (70,71), a par 5-ös, 11.szakaszon egy eagle-el fejelte meg a harmadik fordulóban addig begyűjtött három birdie-jét, majd egy dupla bogey után -6-al fejezte be élete első, aranyosan csillogó hazai versenyét. A második helyre az idei Magyar Kupa nyílt győztese, a szlovén Malek Lana (+6) ért be, aki hiába erősített a második fordulóban -3-al, majd a befejezésben Fullerrel azonos szakaszon ütött eagle-el, így sem tudta behozni a 12 ütésnyi lemaradást, így lett az ezüstérem boldog tulajdonosa. A bronzérem a cseh Markova Michaela nyakába kerülhetett, miután az utolsó szakaszon birdie-vel hajrázott, így nem engedte, hogy Jaczkovics Emma állhasson helyette a dobogó harmadik fokára. A magyar nők versenyében már kevésbé születtek kiemelkedő teljesítmények, szoros küzdelmek. In addition to two bogeys, he was forced to make six birdies for this purpose, but even this was not enough to shake the position of Somogyi, who played calmly throughout. With the exception of the 5th hole, Somogyi made the Pars almost monotonously, then at the end he tipped the balance with four birdies and finally, with -5, he can celebrate his Hungarian championship title for the first time in addition to the Open second place. 2021 Open champion Olivér Csányi (+2) was trailing Somogyi and Kötél with two bogeys and four birdies, but in the end a single stroke difference decided in favor of the bronze medal.

There were no surprises at the Open women's championship. Fuller Annabell (-6) of Hungarian-English origin, but competing in English colors, with 6.3 hcp, dominated the course like queen all the way, after the balanced first two rounds (70,71), an eagle on the Par 5, 11th hole - she finished his three birdies in the third round, then after a double bogey he ended her first, beautifully sparkling domestic tournament with -6. The second place was taken by the Open winner of this year's Hungarian Cup, the Slovenian Malek Lana (+6), who, despite improving in the second round with -3, then hit an eagle on the same stretch as Fuller at the end, and could not get the 12 strokes. Falling behind, thus becoming the happy owner of the silver medal. The bronze medal could have gone to the Czech Michaela Markova after she birdied the final hole, thus preventing Emma Jaczkovics from taking the third place on the podium. In the Hungarian women's competition, there were fewer outstanding performances and close fights. The Hungarian women's champion was the winner of the 2021 Hungarian Cup, Emma Jaczkovics (+13), the 2020 Open champion Daniella Berkenyei won the silver medal with +20 strokes, Annamária Hoffmann (+25) finished in third place.
