INTERNATIONAL ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

LJMU has played a significant role in boosting my confidence, especially in terms of communication and public speaking. The university provided me with ample opportunities to attend job fairs and networking events with leading companies.

I secured a role as an International Student Ambassador with the international recruitment team through UniTemps, the LJMU internal job agency. This experience helped me realise the importance of first impressions and networking.

Currently, I work as an Assistant Building Services Engineer in a building consultant company in Brunei. My plan for the future is to become a professional engineer in my field of work. I also aim to serve as an inspiration to young engineers and my peers, striving to become a representative figure for women in STEM.

Amal Hussaini

I successfully completed the LLM program in International Business Corporate and Finance Law at LJMU this year. LJMU ensures students learn about how to prepare for their future and the world of work before they graduate. This focus on employability and our future was engrained in my course. One thing I found beneficial was engaging in practical discussions during lectures and learning from highly competent lecturers in their respective fields. This greatly contributed to my comprehension of various legal systems and helped me decide on what I wanted to do when I graduated.

My future plan is to continue my career as a Qualified Solicitor in the UK and strive to excel in my field.

Kerim Altinalana

LLM International Business and Finance Law graduate, and alum from Turkey.

BEng Architectural Engineering graduate, and alum from Brunei.
