Continuing Professional Development is not only a mandatory requirement of registration with many accreditation and professional bodies, but an opportunity to follow your passion, facilitate improvements in patient care, and enhance your career opportunities.
Teaching and technical staff: Our talented and dedicated staff are here to help you get the most from your learning. Teaching is delivered by experienced academic clinical practitioners supported by technical experts. This means you benefit from research-led insights that make a tangible difference in real life practice.
Location: Teaching is delivered across a range of channels, including in-person on campus at our Tithebarn Building (L2 2ER), online via our virtual learning environment, or for some modules at partner organisations.
Credits: The modules in this brochure are all credit-bearing. Each module has a credit value, for example 20 or 30. Credits show the amount of learning you will do. They are set at the level of study – in this case, Level 6 (bachelors) or 7 (masters).
Module duration: All modules in this brochure cover 15 weeks of delivery, unless otherwise stated. This excludes University closure periods, such as the Christmas break in December.
Fees: CPD module fees are charged per credit. For 2025-26, this is usually around £50 but is course dependent. For example, a 20-credit module with a fee of £50 per credit would cost a total of £1,000. You can find the fee for each module on our website course page.
Funding options: All modules in this brochure can be self-funded. Many Trusts and organisations also offer staff development funding. As this varies to meet workforce development needs, we recommend you speak to your training and development team/officer.
Other awards: Some of the CPDs listed in this brochure are available to study as part of higher awards including postgraduate certificates (PgCert), postgraduate diplomas (PgDip) or masters awards. This may be as Core or Optional modules.
