NEW MAYOR AND COUNCILLORS TO DELIVER A REVITALISED LIVERPOOL Under the 100-day revitalisation plan, several key deliverables are proposed including commencing the development application process for two new swimming pool projects at Carnes Hill and Holsworthy.

Liverpool City Council has welcomed in a new era of leadership determined to bring Council back to basics – working for the people of Liverpool. Ned Mannoun was elected as the Mayor of Liverpool at the Local Government Elections in December 2021 and will lead the elected Councillors to deliver a more revitalised Liverpool. Mayor Mannoun’s 100-day revitalisation plan was recently given the green light, after the motion was approved at the first Council meeting of the year in February 2022. A new Deputy Mayor, Councillor Karress Rhodes was also elected at this meeting.

“My first couple of months as Mayor of Liverpool has been extremely busy and rewarding. Working with my fellow Councillors, we are laying the groundwork for a Liverpool that residents have been calling for,” Mayor Mannoun said.

Investigations will also commence into road upgrades for Fifteenth Avenue from Kingsford Smith Avenue to Cowpasture Road, and Qantas Boulevard. Council will also investigate parking within the Liverpool CBD aiming to create an additional 500 parking spots. The motion also included a new 2022 major events program with the return of the popular Starry Sari Night and night markets in the Liverpool CBD.

He has lived in the Liverpool area since immigrating from the United States when he was ten years old. In his current term Mayor Mannoun has a bold vision to implement several key projects including: constructing new swimming pools in Carnes Hill and Chipping Norton/Moorebank, introducing 500 new car parking spots, upgrading Kurrajong Road, and an increased focus on keeping our streets clean and safe.
