BRICKMAKERS PARK SCOPE ENHANCEMENT

Upgraded Leisure Centre

Brickmakers Creek Potential Development

30,000+ Capacity Entertainment Precinct

A $43.9 million grant rejuvenates Brickmakers Creek

Within easy walking distance of Liverpool CBD, well-connected to public transport links, and surrounded by thousands of car parking spaces, Woodward Park has the potential to offer more than passive recreation.

The current $44 million project delivers much-needed upgrades, focused primarily on landscape, environmental and recreational improvements. An existing concrete stormwater channel is replaced by a reshaped watercourse and extensive native planting.

A proposed regional playground offers nature and water play features and a community building. Other deliverables include edge treatments, pathway improvements, landscaping and canopy cover.

These elements enhance the park’s look and usability and will deliver a new, cooler parkland in the heart of Liverpool.

If the scope

within the WSIG budget

is improved, Liverpool Council could host this...

The Liverpool Amphitheatre project is a visionary investment that will place Liverpool on the global stage as a cultural and events destination.

This architecturally striking, open-air venue, will host concerts, theatre, festivals, community events, and every day public use—transforming Woodward Park into a dynamic centre of performance and social life.

With the capacity to attract up to 30,000 visitors a day, the amphitheatre and its surrounding precinct are forecast to deliver enormous economic and social benefits.

According to modelling from economy.id, an arts and heritage event of state significance attracting this level of visitation could inject over $138 million into the Liverpool City economy.

Economic boost:

• $87.36 million in direct output;

• $36.46 million in direct value-added;

• Over 519 direct jobs;

• A total economic impact of 674 new local jobs across direct, industrial, and consumption sectors; and

• 60% local job initiatives.

This powerful economic ripple effect will transform local retail, hospitality, accommodation, and transport services—bringing new life to Liverpool’s day and night-time economy.

More than just a performance space, the amphitheatre will become a civic icon—a place for celebration, creativity, and community pride at the heart of one of Western Sydney’s fastestgrowing regions.

The ideal place for a Sydney Festival-Domain concert clone event.

Wave 55

A Wave 55 structure set up in Langley Park, Perth

Integrating a Stagekings Wave 55 structure into the Woodward Park precinct would significantly enhance functionality by providing a covered hospitality facility for up to 5,000 people.

As the largest free-span temporary venue in the Southern Hemisphere, the Wave 55 offers a modular footprint that’s 55 metres wide, 100 metres long, and 18 metres high.

This expansive, column-free space is ideal for accommodating large crowds and can be configured to include elevated dining and beverage areas, providing patrons with comfortable, all-weather hospitality options.

The structure’s design includes features such as BCA-compliant egress, sandwich panel wall frames or PVC walling options, and a wind rating of 45 m/s (162 km/h), ensuring safety and compliance with Australian standards.

By incorporating the Wave 55, Liverpool City Council can create a versatile, immersive environment that not only supports large-scale events but also enhances the overall visitor experience, solidifying Woodward Park as a premier cultural and entertainment destination.

That will attract a realised Whitlam Leisure Centre

These projects present a unique opportunity for Liverpool City Council to realise the vision set out in its Future Provision of Aquatic Centres Strategy, adopted in 2022.

That strategy outlines a demand-driven model that anticipates future growth and calls for a modernised facility featuring a 50m Olympic pool, hydrotherapy and learn-to-swim areas, water slides, splash parks, expanded indoor courts, a gymnastics hall, and a fitness centre.

Designed with inclusive, place-based principles, this renewal would be the third for the beloved Whitlam Centre: proof of its enduring value and the site’s capacity to support Liverpool’s thriving and diverse population.

Room for improvement

Currently vacant parkland, there is the potential to transform the northeast portion of Woodward Park into a vibrant, high-amenity precinct that serves both the community and the region.

This collaboration could deliver a multi-level development featuring large-scale public parking, a flexible market hall, community facilities and short stay accommodation for flight crews and passengers using Western Sydney International Airport.

This precinct could support day-to-night activation and landmark events. This partnership could bring a dormant community space to life.
