Lease Extension Request Form
As the spring semester winds down and we prepare for many of you to depart our communities, we wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude for each of you! Thank you for choosing to be a part of the Lumina Communities!
Approximately 30 days prior to your lease end date, you will receive a formal notice with information about moving out properly. St. Martin Hall residents, please expect this notice on Friday, April 11. On this date, Brottier and McGinley residents will receive information about move out procedures as well.
Lease End Dates: May 12 at noon: St. Martin Hall July 22 at noon: Brottier Hall and McGinley Hall
For 2025-2026, are you renewing your lease? Are you moving within the building?
Please note that residents who are renewing their unit for 20252026 are welcome to stay at no additional charge between the lease periods. These residents do not need to complete a lease extension request form.
Residents who are moving within the building they currently live in must be available between August 1-8, 2025 to move to their new apartment when notified. They must submit a Lease Extension Request by June 15.
These residents will receive notice to pick up their new key during these dates and they will have 48 hours to complete their move out of their apartment for 2024-2025. If residents cannot commit to this plan, they must move out of the building by lease end and not return until the new lease begins.
If a resident moves out prior to lease end, they will not be able to move in again until the new lease begins.
Additional information about policies and procedures between lease periods will be sent out soon.
As we wrap up the 2025-2026 academic year, we seek feedback from
St. Martin Hall residents about what is good, what could be better, as well as dreams they have for the community! On Wednesday, April 23 at noon in the St. Martin Hall Conference Room we will meet over lunch.
Please register by Wednesday, April 16 if you can join us for lunch where members of the Lumina staff team will be present to receive your feedback. We are accepting the first 7 students to sign up and will be providing a free lunch from Panera Bread.
Questions? Contact us at liveatluminaduq@cocm.com or (412)396-1600.

Application
The trash & recycling bins in Brottier Hall have been moved from the elevator lobby on April 1st to the back wall of the kitchenette/market.
Please place all trash & recycling in the new location, and refrain from placing any trash or recycling in the lobby area.
Thank you for your cooperation!
McGinley Hall Front doors will be undergoing maintenance prior to Easter (April 17th - April 18th).
Contractors will be replacing the door hardware for the entry of McGinley Hall. Currently, the doors have a hard time opening and closing, and this is due to the mechanics of the push bars and handles.
We will be swapping these out for more durable hardware, along with new mullions between each of the sets of doors, which should make it a lot easier for resident entry/exit.
Work will begin at 7am and last until 4pm on Thursday April 17th and Friday April 18th. This will not prevent resident entry/exit during this time, but there will be contractors actively working in the entryways. The swipe stations will still be active at this time, and all residents/ staff should continue to swipe upon entry.
The staff of Lumina Communities encourages residents to consider donating items as they depart from the building!
Every year, a number of items are left abandoned in apartments and residents are charged for leaving their personal items in apartments. Departing residents may not have a need for them despite their good condition.
