Apartment Meal Plans

What is an apartment meal plan?

With the variety of cooking amenities that the Lumina buildings offer, not all students want a traditional meal plan! Duquesne Dining offers apartment meal plans with 5-7 meal swipes a week and flex! This is a convenient option for students who still plan to grab lunch at one of the many dining options on campus. You are not required to have a meal plan when living in the Lumina communities.

How to get a Meal Plan

You can sign up for an apartment meal plan through DORI. Log in using your Duquesne credentials and click on the Meal Plan tab, then Apartment Meal plan. From there you are able to select your desired meal plan! Returning Lumina residents can now sign up for apartment meal plans. New Lumina residents will need to wait until the end of the summer to apply, as housing has not yet transitioned for the semester.

RLaundryeminders

Please remember to be courteous when using our communal laundry spaces. Don’t leave clothes unattended for long periods, clean the lint trap after each use, and keep the area tidy for your fellow residents.

Remove your laundry promptly once cycles are finished so the next person can use the machines. Always clean out the lint trap after using the dryer, and double-check that you haven’t left any items behind. If you spill detergent or notice a mess, take a moment to wipe it up. Small steps like these help keep the space welcoming for all!

Trash Rooms

In St. Martin Hall, trash rooms are located to the left of the elevators on every floor. Recycling bins are also available in the common areas throughout the building. Please remember to break down large boxes and sort recyclables properly. This helps our maintenance team keep the trash rooms clean, organized, and pleasant for everyone.

Brottier Hall & McGinley Hall

Each floor in Brottier and McGinley has a trash room with a convenient trash chute. Instructions for using the chute are posted inside the trash room. Recycling bins are also available in the common areas. Please remember to break down boxes and recycle whenever possible—this helps keep the trash rooms neat and makes it easier to maintain a clean environment for everyone!

The Lease Transfer Process: Tips to Help You!

There are various reasons that you may be interested in transferring your lease For example - Are you graduating? Studying abroad? Are you having challenges with your roommate? No matter the reason, the resident will continue to be financially responsible for their lease until a successful lease transfer occurs.

1) WHAT'S THE REASON?

It costs $150 to transfer your lease. Additional fees may apply if you transfer your lease prior to September 1. Departing residents will see this charge on their DU student account AFTER a completed lease transfer.

2) LEASE TRANSFERS COST MONEY.

The original lessee will finish their lease at the end of the month. The new lease will begin their new lease on the first of the month. This applies to all months, with the exception of summertime.

3) END DATE. START DATE.
