SUMMER COMMUNICATION #4

The Lumina Loop Newsletter!

You are receiving this communication because you are a resident (or a guarantor) of the Lumina Communities for 2024-2025

Over the course of the next few months, you can expect to receive regular communication from our office delivered to your DUQ email These communications are intended to help prepare you for life in our communities

As we near the completion of 1045 Forbes Ave Hall, we’ve noticed that our information is sometimes building-specific

Within the pages of this newsletter, you will find information that applies more directly to you and which building you will live in

August is almost here and Move-In will be here before you know it! Lumina Communities partners closely with the

Duquesne University Office of Residence Life, but we have some unique leasing and move-in procedures that must be followed

You may notice sections of text labeled “TL;DR.” This stands for “Too Long; Didn’t Read” and will help you understand the gist of the section without reading the nitty gritty.

As you read through Summer Communication #4, please read carefully, follow all instructions, and let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Without further ado: enjoy this edition of The Lumina Loop!

Sincerely,

The Lumina Communities Team

You are not the only one! Phone loss is surprisingly common and typically easy to resolve

Here are some first steps: Stay calm & attempt to retrace your steps. 1 Visit the Move-In tent & the Front Desk to provide a description of your device. 2 Call your device from a friend’s number 3.

We are so glad to have your help! As you can imagine, that device means a lot to someone

Here’s what you should do: Treat the device carefully This is someone’s property! 1 Bring the device to the Move-In tent or the Front desk for safe-keeping. 2 DO NOT post the device on social media! 3.

Phone loss is not entirely preventable, but consider these strategies for a faster return

You may want to: Use your information as your lock-screen/background. 1 Keep your ringer or sound on to hear incoming calls & notifications. 2 Charge your device to prevent delays 3.
