Certification
To certify a student, they must first show their COE (Certification of Eligibility). This document is administered by Veteran Affairs (VA) and informs LIU how much in educational benefits a student has remaining. If a student has benefits, they complete a Pedigree Form and request for certification. A request for certification must be completed each semester after a student registers for classes, while the Pedigree must only be completed once on entry to LIU. It is the responsibility of the student to submit a certification request if anything changes.
LIU SCHOLARSHIPS
Long Island University’s scholarship programs are designed to reward students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement in high school. We are committed to providing our students with an affordable, high-quality education and awarded over $100 million in scholarships to our most recent freshmen class. Awards are given to students who demonstrate academic achievement, athletic talent, or strong leadership as well as performers and artists. Aid is also awarded based on financial need. All first-year students are automatically considered for scholarships, renewable for up to 8 consecutive terms of undergraduate study if the student meets the specific renewal requirements, which includes maintaining full-time enrollment status and a 3.2 cumulative GPA.
