The University of San Carlos sees: A WORLD where the darkness of sin and the night of unbelief vanish before the light of the Word and the Spirit of grace.
A SOCIETY where citizens are competent, noble in character, and community-oriented:
What they know, they apply justly and honestly. What they do not know, they seek to learn. What they do not have, they endeavor to acquire.
What they have, they share.
The University of San Carlos is a Catholic institution of learning that embodies the principles of academic discipline of San Carlos Borromeo and the missionary charism of the Society of the Divine Word. We aim to develop competent and socially responsible professionals and lifelong learners in an environment that fosters excellence in the academic core processes of teaching-learning, research and community extension service.
Our mission is to provide timely, relevant and transformative academic programs responsive to the needs of the local, national, and global communities, in a rapidly changing world.
Master’s Degree (Professional Track)
The Master’s Degree Professional Track has the primary purpose of applying knowledge in professional practice. A Master’s degree of this type is either terminal or geared towards preparation for a doctoral degree program with a professional track.
This program requires students to pass a comprehensive examination and a complete capstone project.
A capstone project culminates the student’s academic or learning experience. It provides the student an opportunity to exhibit the knowledge and skills obtained during the course of graduate study. It can be featured through a long-term investigative project that concludes in final output, presentation or performance. A typical form is when a student may be required to choose a topic or a problem that interests them, perform a research on these topics and generate a final output (for example, in the form of essay, case study, research paper, or a short film or multimedia presentation) indicative of the student’s acquisition of learning. The student presents the capstone project to a panel or committee of experts for grading and evaluation.

Teaching Strategies
Class Requirements, Management and Policies
The topic will utilize varied learning strategies that will put the student at the center of all class activities, which is OBE. This is based on the belief that the best way to learn is to be actively involved in the learning process. It is expected that the student will take charge of their learning experiences (ideally recorded in a journal as per CHED Advisory) because in the end, it is the evidences of learning demonstrated is what the teacher will use as instrument for grading.
Students will be guided through the readings, research activities, presentation, and organizing class requirements into a portfolio as a teaching-learning activity (or formative learning).

The current situation calls for lowering the benchmark, splitting the course into 4 modules combining synchronous and asynchronous learning, with compressed contact hours. Each module is allocated at least two weeks, one week for TLA, and another for the AT, based on CHED COVID Advisory No. 6 dated 13 April 2020. Journal with reflective thoughts on work concerns and related issues should be a requirement. This is to identify some of the strength and weaknesses of work at home and simulated working environments.
