This laboratory course deals with Commercial and Workplace interior design. For commercial, spaces such as Ticketing Booths, Courier Service, Showrooms; including complex Shopping Malls and Department Stores (Full). For workplace, design problems such as Offices, Banks, Call Centers, Co-Working and Corporate Spaces.

The course is part of the strategies to enable students for analytical problem-solving which is necessary for success in subsequent major courses in the interior design program.

Assessment of Outcomes Grading System Rubric-based ratings for specific assessment tasks are given corresponding weights to comprise the grade that the student gets for the course. As evidence of having attained the course outcomes, students have to participate in teaching-learning activities (formative assessment) and produce plates/portfolios (summatvie assessment) Computation: 70% - Plates 15% - Exams 15% - Teaching-Learning Activities

Teaching Strategies

The topic will utilize varied learning strategies that will put the student at the center of all class activities, which is OBE. This is based on the belief that the best way to learn is to be actively involved in the learning process. It is expected that the student will take charge of their learning experiences (ideally recorded in a journal as per CHED Advisory) because in the end, it is the evidences of learning demonstrated is what the teacher will use as instrument for grading.

Students will be guided through the readings, discussions, group activities, research activities, presentation, and organizing class requirements into a portfolio.

NOTES: The current situation calls for lowering the benchmark, splitting the course into 4 modules combining synchronous and asynchronous learning, with compressed contact hours. Each module is allocated at least two weeks, one week for TLA, and another for the AT, based on CHED COVID Advisory No. 6 dated 13 April 2020. Journal with reflective thoughts on work concerns and related issues should be a requirement. This is to identify some of the strength and weaknesses of work at home and simulated working environments.
