DECEMBER 2: HAYDEN LIGHTS PARADE AND CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY Presented by P1FCU, the event starts at 5pm with the parade, which heads south along Government Way from Hayden Avenue to Honeysuckle Avenue, immediately followed by the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Bring the whole family and enjoy all the festivities during this annual Hayden Lights holiday celebration! Head to McIntire Family Park for free cookies, and hot chocolate is available for purchase. Celebrate New Year’s Eve with First Night Spokane, which continues to be the only winter festival on New Year’s Eve in Downtown Spokane. Celebrating 17 years hosting the largest visual and performing arts festival in the downtown core of Spokane, this is a spectacular event for all! DECEMBER 2: HOLIDAY CRAB FEED & BENEFIT AUCTION 2017 marks the 51st Annual Holiday Crab Feed and Benefit Auction, with proceeds going to support the prevention of child abuse. Held in the Integra Telecom Ballroom at the Spokane Convention Center, tickets are $75 per person; attendees must be 21 or older. Doors open at 4:30pm with social hour and silent auction, followed by dinner, live auction and live music by the Cronkites. Hurry, registration ends Monday, November 27, 2017 at 1pm! DECEMBER 10: CHRIST KITCHEN GINGERBREAD BUILD-OFF Held at The Davenport Hotel, the annual Gingerbread BuildOff features teams of the region’s finest bakers and architects competing to build the most beautiful and imaginative gingerbread houses. These teams will decorate under a three hour time limit. It’s free to watch the teams in action 10am to 1pm in the Hall of Doges! Tickets to vote can be purchased at the event. In the Grand Pennington Ballroom, kids and families can decorate their own gingerbread houses from 10am to 4pm. Kits are $7 each with all proceeds benefiting Christ Kitchen.
