We spend a lot of our weekends out on the lake with our sailboat, weeknights at the neighborhood pool, and are looking forward to checking out the new splash pad at Lea McKeighan Park (our FAVORITE park in Lee’s Summit!). We will be moving close to Longview Lake this summer and are also going to enjoy the miles of trails for mountain biking and hiking.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE FIREWORKS DISPLAY THAT YOU ATTEND EVERY YEAR? Our family started a tradition of escaping the craziness of life by heading down to Stockton, Missouri for a beautiful fireworks display over Stockton Lake surrounded by family. It’s a small town in Missouri that is a great getaway location only two hours from Lee’s Summit. I highly recommend this fun, peaceful lake for boating, fishing and great hiking!
WITH SO MANY FARMERS’ MARKETS IN THE AREA, IS THERE ONE YOU LIKE BEST? Downtown Lee’s Summit hands down! You can’t beat walking right across the street from your office to pick up local goods from local vendors! The meats, produce and flowers are always hard to pass up!

My daughter Lena loves going to The K; win or lose she always has a great time. Elizabeth and I get so much joy out of having that quality time with her. We are really excited to start a tradition with our newest kiddo, Maren.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE FIREWORKS DISPLAY THAT YOU ATTEND EVERY YEAR? Our house faces Legacy Park and our neighborhood throws a huge block party for the 4th of July. We all camp out on the lawns, driveways and street to watch the fireworks. Friday nights at “The K” are a close second!
WITH SO MANY FARMERS’ MARKETS IN THE AREA, IS THERE ONE YOU LIKE BEST? The only farmers market that I’m familiar with is the one in downtown Lee’s Summit. Like most people, I’m kind of stuck in my ways. Until I meet someone that is passionate about the farmers markets outside of ours downtown, I will probably not explore the others.
