Ayear-long renovation with a $4 million price tag has resulted in an extraordinary new customer experience that is now available at Cronic Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
“It is not an exaggeration to say that everything in the showroom is new,” said Wanda Cronic Howell, president of Cronic Automotive Group. “A customer waiting room that is attractive and state-of-theart. Instead of waiting at the service area, customers will be able to come to the showroom and have a much more uplifting experience – beautiful and modern.”
A new three-lane drive for sales and service will make visiting the dealership much easier and more pleasant, especially during inclement weather. The service drive is connected to the building to give customers a way to drop off their vehicles and come inside to experience the new showroom. A new customer lounge provides wifi hookups and computer plugs for convenience along with a coffee bar with snacks.
“One of the biggest features now is that our service drive is connected to our showroom and not to the service department,” said Tom Swygert, general manager of Cronic Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. “That is a new addition. It is a better user experience than they had before.”
The service department is adding personnel, specifically more technicians, with a plan to have quicker service and earlier turnaround time to get customers in and out.
“There’s more service space to take care of customers in a more timely manner,” said Howell.
The new showroom is set up with a precise design that displays Jeep vehicles on one side of the large open space and Chrysler Dodge Ram vehicles on the other.
Along with the features throughout the new showroom, Swygert is eager to show the community the new displays for the vehicles themselves, including the Wagoneer
and Grand Wagoneer.
“There is a special section in the new showroom that is designated for those products,” he said. We are excited about showing off that new product line.”
All in all, it means a more comfortable and pleasant experience for customers.
“The showroom is all new and very contemporarily furnished,” said Howell. “It takes my breath away when I go in there.”
Whether you need service on an existing vehicle or you are in the market for a new one, there is no better time than right now to check out the “new and improved” Cronic Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
The Proverbs 31 woman is described as a woman of noble character. Some of the key characteristics attributed to her in the Bible include:
1. Trustworthiness: She can be trusted by her husband and he has full confidence in her. (I can be trusted)
2. Industriousness: She is a hard worker and diligent in her responsibilities. She is involved in various economic activities, including investing in fields, making garments, and trading. (I do love to work hard)
3. Wisdom: She is known for her wisdom and good judgment, making wise decisions. (I pray for wisdom every day)
4. Compassion: She is known for her compassion and kindness. (Not really)
5. Strength and dignity: She is described as strong, not just physically but also in character, with dignity and honor. (I can only hope)
6. Resourcefulness: She is skilled in managing her household, providing for her family, and being prepared for the future. (I wish)
7. Fear of the Lord: Her worth is not just in her external qualities but also in her reverence for God. She seeks Him in everything she does and trusts Him wholeheartedly. (I absolutely, unequivocably trust God with my life)
So, I'm not exactly a Proverbs 31 woman... whew, that's a tall order! But it certainly is something to work toward. One thing that is extremely important to me is to pray over my day ahead, every day. It's the first thing I do in the morning after I make my coffee. I shudder to think what I would be like if I didn't. I have learned over the years that God loves me just as I am, doing exactly what I'm doing, exactly as the woman He made me to be, even if I'm not perfect.
See my hat? Somewhere in between, Proverbs 31 and Tupac, there's me. I'll take it.
Please enjoy reading about some amazing women who are toward the Proverbs 31 end of the spectrum in our May Ladies' Issue! I know their stories will touch your life and inspire you.
Blessings,

MEET FIVE WONDERFUL WOMEN DOING WONDERFUL THINGS FOR OUR COMMUNITY.

For 28 years, Liesa Johnson has been an engaged member of Fayette County. Since childhood, Liesa’s father instilled in her the principle of leaving things better than she found them, a philosophy that guides her servant’s heart to this day.
As the first in her family to attend college, Liesa graduated from the University of Virginia and went on to earn her master’s degree. While she received some academic and financial scholarships, Liesa also worked to make ends meet. Determined to give back, she pledged to support others once she achieved success. True to her word, Liesa established a scholarship to assist a deserving student each year in pursuing their college education. This scholarship, initially valued at $1,000, has since grown to $5,000 and stands as a testament to her dedication to helping others. She credits her husband, Jim, for his unwavering support over the past 12 years in this endeavor, which was the first scholarship awarded by the Fortitude Educational and Cultural Development Center (FECDC).
Liesa holds a deep affection for youth, firmly believing in their potential to shape a better world. With 12 years of service at FECDC, 11 years at AVPRIDE, and 48 years as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Liesa has dedicated herself to various initiatives supporting youth, seniors, social action, voter registration, nonpartisan political forums, education on human trafficking, the Overflow End Stage Renal Foundation, Promise Place projects, and more. Debbie Gronner, Founder and CEO of The Women at The WELL, exemplifies unwavering faith, drawing inspiration from John 4:13-14, where Jesus meets the woman at the well. Despite her past mistakes, Debbie finds solace in God’s grace and sees it as the driving force behind her ministry. She believes that her calling to The Women at The WELL is a testament to God’s enduring love and forgiveness, symbolized by the name given to her.
Following several profound losses, God directed Debbie from a 24-year career to full-time ministry. The Women at The WELL, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, was established to address the spiritual, mental, and emotional needs of women, serving over 600 to date. Through various programs like single women’s conferences, retreats, a young women’s connection group, and community outreach initiatives focused on raising awareness about human trafficking, sex trafficking, and suicide prevention, the ministry has made a significant impact in supporting women at different stages of their journey.
Stories of Hope stands as a cornerstone of the ministry. Every first Thursday of the month, women gather to share and connect through stories of hope. Featuring guest speakers who share their journeys from brokenness to redemption, these gatherings inspire and uplift women. Word of mouth and social media platforms like Facebook @thewomenathewell serve as avenues for women to discover The Women at The WELL. Visit thewomenatthewell.us for more information.
Georgia native Niki Vanderslice is a wife, mother, and community gatekeeper. As president and CEO of Fayette County Development Authority, part of Niki’s job is welcoming companies and businesses into the county that are a good fit, and saying no thanks to the ones that aren’t. “We’re a world-class community,” she said. “I want Fayette County to look for and seize opportunities that will allow us to be the community we’ve always been— a county that has a reputation for excellence.”
Niki was appointed to the Authority in 2016. While appreciating the contributions of past leaders, she also sees the importance of developing new leaders. “We’ve got to continuously develop leaders to have people that are casting vision for our community,” she said.
Part of Niki’s vision involves providing opportunities for younger residents. “What are we doing to attract and make it so that our kids want to come back here? That’s what drives me. I want this community to be a place they want to be. I want my girls to be able to call Fayette County home in 30 years,” she said.
Niki, husband Ed, and daughters Katie, 8, and Addie, 7, live near Brooks. Although she never envisioned herself living in metro Atlanta, Niki is home. “Our girls are the third generation to live on our family farm and I’m not going anywhere.” CONTINUED >
Spend one minute with Shalita Thrasher and you will know her purpose… to advocate, educate, and empower women affected by breast cancer.
“I had just been seen by a doctor and had a mammogram but it didn’t pick it up. I found my lump in the shower! This was in June of 2020, during the height of the Pandemic. I had to fight for a 3-D mammogram.” And fight, she did. Shalita was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma, grade 3 triple negative breast cancer—time to get serious.
Born in Hollywood, Florida, Shalita moved to GA with her family when she was a child. Since her diagnosis in 2020, another new life started. “I thought this was it. I thought life was over. But it was just beginning.” Throughout all of her treatment, a double mastectomy, and reconstruction surgeries, Shalita found the strength and inspiration to help other women who were facing the same war. She rang the bell on December 5th, 2020, and never looked back.
In 2021, Shalita founded Shine Through Me, Inc., a nonprofit organization that supports others coping with breast cancer. Women receive life coaching, care packages full of items they will need for respite and care during treatment, and resources so that they can advocate for themselves and be fully educated. “Speak UP, ladies! Speak up and ask questions. No one knows your body better than you. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it.”
If you or someone you know needs support, go to shineorganization.org for help or to donate to the cause.
Camilla, GA, native Mandy Timmons’ 30-year career with Cooper Lighting began while she attended college in Americus. She moved to the company’s newly opened Peachtree City location in 1997 and is now the senior director of customer operations. She credits her successful career to fantastic managers, parents who taught her to work hard, and a thirst for knowledge. “You can’t move up in your career without learning something new every day,” she said.
Mandy also enjoys others’ success and focuses on her team’s development. She has led and is active in the Cooper women’s group and with her team started a leadership development program.
For Mandy, giving back doesn’t end at Cooper. She serves on the Harts of Teal board, and as a Peachtree City Rotary member, Mandy is the club’s secretary, a major donor, Bequest Society member, the district public image chair, and a Rotary Leadership Institute instructor. “I have always loved giving back to others,” she said, a trait instilled by her family—the most important thing in her life.
“My parents are truly my two favorite people in the world, my sister Amy is my best friend, and my brother-in-law, Jeff, has been my mentor,” she said. Mandy is also dog-mom to her “very spoiled child,” Prissy. But her favorite title is GAM—Great Aunt Mandy—to Jace, Cade, Gray, Ellie, and Cash, children of her nephew, Bryce, and niece, Brooke.

Searching for useful and affordable healthcare and insurance can be a frustrating and daunting task. Fortunately for those who live on Atlanta’s south side, there is a dynamic duo with a combined half-century of experience navigating the insurance industry available to help.
Two years ago, after the passing of their beloved and respected mentor, Scott Burrell of BeneTrend Advisors, Workman and Baker took a leap of faith by purchasing the business. Each one saw the other as an ideal partner. “We worked together before and knew each other — we understand the strengths and talents that we bring to the table,” said Baker. “We both have always had that mentality to work hard and get things done.”
TWO INSURANCE MAVERICKS TRANSFORM FRUSTRATION INTO FREEDOM.
“WE ARE HERE TO EDUCATE ABOUT INSURANCE. WE ARE HERE TO TALK ABOUT WHAT SOLUTIONS ARE OUT THERE, ESPECIALLY THE AFFORDABLE SOLUTIONS.”
After many years of gaining expertise in health insurance for individuals, families, and businesses, BeneTrend possesses deep knowledge about insurance options, diligently scouring the marketplace to find the best options to suit each client’s needs. Small business owners appreciate this because in providing key benefits for their employees they need to keep the business budget in mind. Moreover, they need someone who will make sure all of the details are covered, correct the mistakes an insurance carrier might make, and go to bat for the client whenever necessary.
One client recently recovered a significant amount of money owed to him thanks to BeneTrend Partners. He is an employee under a group plan whose wife passed away from cancer. He did not realize he continued to pay the same premium after her death, but BeneTrend stepped in and made corrections so that he received the money he should have gotten while she was alive and being treated. It’s a difference of thousands of dollars and made a huge difference in his life.
On the company side, BeneTrend Partners recently helped a business owner save $75,000 on the renewal of a plan already in force, just by reviewing the plan and thinking outside the box. The kind of knowledge that makes this possible comes from always keeping a close eye on the industry. “An insurance agency has to know what each insurance company like United Healthcare, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, or Cigna is doing,” said Workman. “So the knowledge that we’ve collected over the past 50 years has really put us in a spot where we could do what we do today.” Workman and Baker are members of the National Association of Business Insurance Professionals (Workman is president of the South Atlanta chapter). Through their participation in this organization, they stay on top of the latest trends in healthcare, including what is happening in Congress and state legislatures that might affect consumers. They take the time to travel to Washington, DC every year to meet with other agents as well as members of Congress and their staff, lobbying on behalf of their clients. This year, both signed the NABIP Consumer Bill of Rights, a framework to ensure health care remains privately accessible and affordable for all Americans.
Financial products and services have many layers in all sorts of healthcare categories. How do small businesses and individual contractors decide what is best?
To put it another way: What goes on your BeneFit sandwich?
“Insurance is like a sandwich. You can build it however you want,” said Cindy Baker. “The sandwich allows us to have some fun with our not-fun industry.”
Ingredients such as life insurance and disability coverage should be on everyone’s BeneFit sandwich so that a family’s income is protected in case of an unforeseen or even tragic situation. Other components, such as health insurance, are necessary overall but the details vary depending on each person’s situation. Workman has been able to save her own family over $40,000 on healthcare through the years by picking the right BeneFit sandwich options.
“We are here to educate about insurance,” said Workman. “We are here to talk about what solutions are out there, especially the affordable solutions. The BeneFit Sandwich works for individuals, small and large groups.”
NABIP affiliation also allows them to network with their peers from across the country. When a problem arises that they have never encountered, they can be certain that another agent somewhere has experienced this and can give some advice. “We have thousands of agents as part of our tools in our shed to stay on top of this very crazy, chaotic healthcare system,” said Workman. “We want to disrupt it by providing quality and affordability.” This kind of attitude is a breath of fresh air for businesses who seek help with their insurance but have no idea where to start. “Nobody likes insurance. It’s an industry that is not working,” said Workman. “It’s an industry that is very ugly from every angle, from the individual to the small group to the large group. There’s no shade of lipstick or fingernail polish to make any of this pretty. But we do have passion and we are out-of-the-box thinkers, and we want people to feel secure with their decision.”
Making a difference locally is a priority for BeneTrend Partners, who are active in multiple civic organizations and have planted deep roots in their community. Workman is a 40-year resident of Peachtree City while Baker moved to Senoia 31 years ago. Both are single mothers who reared their children in the same place where they now help other parents protect their own families. They are proof to women everywhere that if they can do it, so can you.
“When we acquired this business, we shocked a lot of people. No one thought that we could continue the legacy started by Scott and BeneTrend, but we have,” said Workman. “We want to have a local footprint in this community. We want to give back to our community. We want people to tell their friends, ‘You need to call Kathy and Cindy.’ That’s us.”

AT SOZO YOGA, COMMUNITY AND EMPOWERMENT PROVIDE A FOUNDATION FOR LIVING WELL AND THRIVING IN MIND, BODY, AND SPIRIT WHOLENESS.
Driven by a profound love for her community in Trilith and Atlanta’s south side, Kara Kiefer founded SOZO YOGA to uplift and empower others. Recognizing the transformative power of community, Kara fosters an inclusive environment where wellness is defined by mind, body, and spirit wholeness. With a commitment to building meaningful connections and promoting personal growth, Kara’s vision for SOZO YOGA embodies the essence and significance of restoring the body and maintaining all aspects of good health.
Kara prayed for nine months about whether she should open a yoga studio. She received her answer through a consistent flow of confirmation, and SOZO YOGA opened its doors on February 13, 2023. Merely eight months later, the studio was voted “Best Yoga Studio in Atlanta” by Atlanta magazine. Kara shares her belief, “This is a true testament to the faithfulness of God when you walk in your calling.”
Yoga is not about bending and contorting yourself into difficult poses. “It is a process to explore and get to know yourself.” The word sozo, which when used in the New Testament, is translated variously to mean heal, restore, and make whole. “Yoga is about your inner self and whether you can change your mind. Centering your mind and blocking out the negative thoughts and narratives we tell ourselves.” Kara continues, “Yoga is for everybody, every body type, and every person on the planet.” CONTINUED >
A former runner, Kara discovered that practicing yoga offers a great workout that helps to build muscle and flexibility, as well as inner and outer strength. “Not only is it a great workout, it’s easy on my joints.” Teacher bios, class schedules, and descriptions can be found at SOZOYOGA.com. Follow them on Instagram @SOZOYOGATrilith for updates and upcoming events.
“I wish people would let their guard down and give yoga a try. Nobody is watching you but the teacher.” Kara emphasizes, “The community piece of it is really big because I find that when I’m exercising, I want the accountability and I want to be with my friends. It makes it more fun to do it, and the community aspect encourages people to continue coming.”
Every Monday at 10 am, SOZO YOGA offers a free class for anyone who wants to give yoga a try. Kara would love to see you.
ONE OF OUR CHEF PAULI REEP'S FAVORITES FROM HER MOTHER'S RECIPE BOX.
My Mama was a great home cook. She made everything with such care and love for her family which added that “special something” to every dish.
This strata recipe has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Mama would make this often, especially when friends and family visited
• 8 slices of bread, crusts removed, if desired
• 1 lb. sausage, browned.
• ½ cup mushrooms, roughly chopped
• ½ cup shredded Swiss cheese
• ½ cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
• ¾ cup heavy cream
• 1 ¼ cups milk
• 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
• 1 tsp. prepared mustard
• 6 eggs, slightly beaten
• Salt and pepper as desired
from out of town. It’s easy to prepare and allows for a stress-free morning because it’s prepared the night before. I remember Mama when I smell the lovely aroma. It’s comfort and ease wrapped up into one delicious dish.
Serves: 8
1. Grease 9” x 13” pan.
2. Cube bread, after removing crusts.
3. Line the bottom of the pan with bread. Cook sausage and drain any grease. Sprinkle over bread and add mushrooms and cheese.
4. Mix cream, milk, and eggs. Stir in seasonings and pour over sausage and bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
5. Remove Strata from the fridge and let set at room temperature until the oven has preheated to 375 degrees. Bake uncovered for 35 – 45 minutes or until fully set and browned on the top.
“It’s comfort and ease wrapped up into one delicious dish.”

REEPSpring, come quickly! And if not, bring spring indoors anyway. Flowers brighten any room, any day of the year. No need to wait for a special occasion or holiday – give yourself permission to brighten everyday life with a bowl full of flowers. Place florals in an entryway, kitchen, living room space or even bathroom. Florals make any room come alive with pops of color and the smells of spring that’s just about ready to burst outside.
Consider this your personal invitation to play with flowers by creating your very own Floral Bowl Arrangement. Use any cereal bowl in the kitchen and a bundle of store bought flowers. For extra texture and depth, look for small spring branches and ornamental grasses found in your yard to pop into the arrangement, like I did here. Then, place your floral bowl in a place where you need that burst of joy most. Enjoy!
• 1 bundle of flowers (about 24 stems) + floral food packet
• spring branches & ornamental grasses found in your yard (optional)
• 6” bowl (cereal bowl size)
• floral shears (or garden clippers, kitchen shears, even craft scissors in a pinch)
• 12” square cut chicken wire
• wire cutters
• garden gloves to protect your hands when forming chicken wire
• clear floral tape (scotch tape will also do)
• lazy susan to easily move your arrangement and work from all sides (optional)
• First prepare the mechanics. The mechanics are the non-floral elements used to assemble a floral arrangement. These materials will act as a grid in which the flowers are built into to hold each stem in its place.
• Wearing garden gloves, cut chicken wire roughly into a 12” square. Loosely form the chicken wire into a ball and place inside the bowl.
• Use clear floral tape to make an X shape over the top of the bowl to hold the chicken wire securely into place. This will also give extra support when adding the floral elements later.
• Fill the bowl with water and mix in a flower food packet, if your flowers came with one.
• Begin to arrange floral elements into the bowl. As a general rule, you will want to start with the strongest, thickest stems and end with the most delicate stems. Here, I began with branches, then the largest base flowers followed by taller focal flowers, and finally delicate stems, grasses and wispy greens.
