Where Every Day is an Adventure!

The Heart of Home
Tiptoeing over LEGO and a half-demolished fort, an at-home version of Floor is Lava was my path to the stairs after bidding my boys goodnight. That evening, as I held onto the banister and my toes sank into the thickly carpeted steps, a feeling of gratefulness began to overwhelm me. I remembered how I had never wanted carpet on the stairs; I wanted wood. Gosh, Joanna Gaines would surely cringe. If you know my husband and me well, you are aware of our DIY habit, and it wouldn’t be beyond me to start ripping up the carpet on a whim. But I won’t.

Some years ago, during a visit to a family member's house, our boys developed an attachment to their carpeted stairs. They spent a significant part of our visit playing and sliding down those stairs and, when we returned home, the boys continually begged us to get carpeted stairs as well. My husband and I would quietly laugh it off at the time, we didn’t even have a second story, so the odds were against them.
About a year ago, we found a house that was a tad bigger to accommodate our three growing boys and decided to make a short move across town. This new house checked all the boxes, including (you guessed it!) carpeted stairs. The walk-through was the first time my boys saw the house and the stairs. Their gleeful reaction did not disappoint. It seemed that fate had intervened for them as they got their wish, and the first of many tummy rug-burns ensued.
Our home is not the biggest nor the newest, and our family will never be able to “keep up with the Joneses” here in Dripping Springs–and I’ve come to terms with that. There will be smudges on the walls and nicks on the furniture, but I’ve learned to embrace them. A home should be lived in and loved. So as my toes sank in on that particular night, so did my gratitude, and I pray that I never forget that feeling of thankfulness to call this my home.
As you flip through the heartfelt pages of our Home issue this month, we hope you feel inspired and take pride in your own home and in our town. Dripping Springs truly is a gem in the Hill Country, and we are so fortunate to call it Home.
Happy March!

Preserving Community

In the midst of a rapidly changing world, where corporate dentistry trends often prioritize profit over personal connections, Shane Whisenant, D.D.S. stands as a beacon of continuity in Dripping Springs.
“I grew up here, my father grew up here, granddad, great-granddad, and further. Our family has been in Hays County since 1878,” he reflects, his commitment to the area evident in every word. Gatlin Creek Dentistry stands out by offering a unique blend of personalized care and a deep sense of local pride.

He and his wife Janey both grew up in Dripping Springs and went to Texas A&M. Together with their two boys Beckham and Ledger, they are here to stay. “I identify strongly with a sense of service to the community I grew up in,” says Whisenant.
For Whisenant, dentistry is more than just the profession he’s crafted for 14 years; it's a passion rooted in his early fascination with the intricacies of teeth, form, and function. “Every person's teeth tell a story; every smile is a unique signature of that person,” he says.

Whisenant envisions Gatlin Creek Dentistry as a continuation of the tight-knit values he experienced while growing up. "Folks here enjoy the comfort of knowing neighbors and wishing them well and helping them whenever they can because they care for one another," he says. “That is how it was when we grew up and I hope to help perpetuate that sense of community by practicing here.”

SAFE HAVEN HOME
BrockStar Pest Services
“Good night. Sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite.” Ever wonder where that originated? In the 1900s, a woven rope design held mattresses to their bed frames. To ensure a firm mattress for a good night’s sleep, these ropes required frequent tightening to “sleep tight.” At the same time, these mattresses were often stuffed with materials like straw, shredded corn husks, or down feathers, all of which attracted bed bugs. So if a parent kissed their child goodnight and said, “Don’t let the bed bugs bite,” they meant it!
In Texas, pests are a unique challenge compared to other regions. From scorpions and fire ants to the buzzing cicadas, we encounter a variety of pests specific to our area, including the notorious bed bugs.
Your home is a sanctuary where you sleep, share meals with family, and unwind in the yard on a sunny day. But a pest issue can disrupt even the most peaceful of homes. To safeguard your home and prevent unwelcome visitors between pest control treatments, take these seven proactive measures:
1. Inspect your attic
2. Seal entry points
3. Clean your yard
4. Store firewood properly
5. Check and maintain screens
6. Store food properly
7. Clean gutters

The home office. In the past, this was a tucked-away place where old printers went to die, boxes full of nostalgia were stacked, and “miscellaneous” cords multiplied like rabbits. Growing up, our home office was where you could find exercise equipment, once coveted but eventually existing solely to collect dust and hang winter coats. We all experienced our own version of a home office growing up, each different yet somehow all the same–until the year 2020.
Suddenly, this forgotten room became the epicenter of our lives. A new era of “work from home” was upon us. Kids needed a place for schoolwork, and parents needed a dedicated space for virtual meetings. As a designer (and a mom), I have witnessed (and experienced) the transformation of chaotic clutter dens to fully functional sites complete with Zoom-worthy backdrops. The pandemic may have introduced an inherent amount of mayhem into our lives, but it also provided the perfect opportunity to refine the way we collectively utilize our home work spaces.

For me, our home office needs to serve a variety of purposes. As a business owner, organization and file storage are crucial. On the other hand, my husband, a software company VP, absolutely hates paper clutter; he requires only a clear workspace and a vibe that promotes productivity.
Designing spaces within spaces is often overlooked but can be one of the most underestimated aspects of space design. Personally, I wanted a space that works for all our different moods and moments–somewhere my creativity can run wild like the Seine, but also a quiet spot to sip coffee in the morning while doing some meditation and reading my devotional. Having
dedicated cabinets and receptacles for the kids’ school memorabilia, photos, and home files was also vital for my home office. The Container Store is a great place to find the perfect organizational solutions without compromising your aesthetic. Introducing a beautiful textile by way of linen-wrapped storage solutions is one of my favorite ways to elevate a home office.
Having a long tenure as a real estate professional, as well as a background in construction operations, I lean heavily on my knowledge and experience when it comes to achieving maximum output with minimum input. For example, simply upgrading your office light fixture to a chandelier or pendant light can give your space a more

sophisticated look and feel. In the same vein, discovering creative ways to showcase cherished photos and meaningful objects adds a personal touch to your space. For us, it was the flag from my husband's grandfather's funeral. This flag had been tucked away in a box for years, lacking a proper home. Now, it proudly graces our office, serving as a daily reminder not only of the sacrifices he made for his country, but also of the cherished memories my husband shared with him throughout his childhood. At the end of the day, your space should reflect the beauty of your life in the most functional way possible.

THE UNIQUE
REBEL RUSTIC artistry of
CRAFTING DREAMS INTO REALITY

Rebel Rustic isn’t a standard woodworking business. Plenty of shops make furniture, but Navy veteran Casey Vineyard strives to make home art that’s functional, practical, liveable, and one-of-a-kind.
“We aim for our projects to be unique and artistic,” says Casey. “We bring someone's vision to life and create something they can call their own in their space.”
After 13 years in the corporate world, Casey started Rebel Rustic in 2016 out of his garage in Kyle. “I used the little bit of retirement money and a lot of faith to start my business,” he says. “Initially, I was just doing handyman type work but quickly realized my artistic skills could be used in a much broader way by building custom doors.”
Casey has since expanded his custom-made pieces beyond barn doors. He also builds accent walls, consoles, farmhouse furniture, and tables. In fact, one of those tables changed his life.
“I actually met my wife because she ordered a table from me,” Casey shares. “It was an immediate connection; we were married seven weeks after our first date.”
The business has moved along with Casey and wife Jessica to their property in Hays County, doubling in size from their previous shop in Wimberley. Jessica brings years of education and business experience to Rebel Rustic, and the couple shares the same values in prioritizing quality over quantity.
“One thing that truly sets us apart is our commitment to quality, during and after the sale. We stand by our work and have a very high rate of repeat and

Vista Windows + Doors
TRANSFORMING HOMES IN DRIPPING SPRINGS
ARTICLE BY CHRISTINA THOMPSON

In the picturesque town of Dripping Springs, Vista Windows + Doors (Vista) has become more than just a business; it is a testament to the passion and commitment of its founders–Jim Marasco, Jim Anderson, and Steven Mazur.
Marasco and Anderson, frustrated by the constraints of quickly moving from one ticket to the next without concern for quality, decided to break free of their previous company. With the addition of sales expert Steven Mazur, Vista was born. The trio chose Dripping Springs, envisioning it as the ideal location to establish roots, both in the industry and the community.
Dripping Springs welcomed Vista with open arms, appreciating the company’s strategic partnerships with builders that share their commitment to quality. Recognizing the vital role windows and doors play in a home’s beauty and functionality, Vista collaborates with builders that prioritize these elements, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of homes in the community.
“Windows and doors don’t always get the spotlight they should during the construction process, but the truth is they are part of the very bones of a house and make one of the biggest differences in the long-term beauty and functionality of a home,” says Anderson. “The best builders know this and guide their homeowners accordingly.”
To stay at the forefront of the window and door industry, Vista fosters close relationships with suppliers and actively engages in organizational meetings with various associations. This commitment to staying up to date ensures that Vista’s clients benefit from the latest trends and innovations in the market.
An important element that sets Vista apart from competitors is its unique access to big-box selections
and pricing, despite being a locally owned business. It offers boutique service without the hefty price tag, a testament to the relationships the partners have forged over decades in the industry.
Vista provides custom window and door solutions from top suppliers like Andersen, Western, Jeld-Wen, and LuxView. Additionally, it offers turnkey solutions through its sister installation company and maintains an in-house service team for post-installation walkthroughs, ensuring the highest standards are met.
This dedicated service team plays a crucial role in correcting issues onsite and providing valuable feedback on product performance. Understanding the impact of the local climate, Vista prioritizes quality and durability. With a commitment that extends beyond the sales process, the company ensures customer satisfaction and after-sales service, reflecting their holistic approach to each project.
Although it is not a traditional family business by blood, Vista nevertheless considers itself a family. The partners’ family members are actively involved in key roles, and employees are treated like an extended family. This intimate approach is reflected in the dedication and attention Vista brings to every project.
In an industry often driven by profit, Vista stands out for its genuine care. The company views each project as more than a transaction; it’s a shared journey celebrated around dinner tables. This commitment and concern is what sets Vista apart in an industry that often overlooks the human side of business.
Vista is not just a window and door supplier–it transforms homes in Dripping Springs and is a testament to the power of genuine care in business.

Home Ergonomics for a Healthy Spine and Nervous System
ARTICLE BY DR. JON EBERLE PHOTOGRAPHY BY KRISTEN HAFNER
For the context of this article, we are defining “improving ergonomics” as: designing and arranging your home environment to promote efficiency, comfort, and biomechanics. Proper ergonomics helps to prevent musculoskeletal problems, solve existing overuse injuries, improve endurance and focus, as well as promote overall well-being. With more people doing more work from home, especially working on a computer, the following tips are increasingly important to maintain a healthy spine and nervous system.
1. Choose a chair that supports a neutral posture. This means ears over shoulders (not in front), shoulders over hips, and hips and knees at 90 degrees. Achieving this posture may require placing something under the feet. My favorite option is a kneeling chair with a curved rocking mechanism at the floor contact. This simple option also engages the core and encourages a strong posture.
2. Stand for at least part of the work day. A good minimum is to stand for 15 minutes out of each hour. I encourage patients to stand for half of their work time. This could mean standing for one hour and then sitting for one hour (or shorter intervals, if preferred), repeating throughout the day.
3. Raise your monitor. Make sure the middle of the monitor is at eye level, or a bit higher, while looking straight ahead. This encourages your head to retract back onto your shoulders. Laptops make this very difficult; consider using a bluetooth keyboard and mouse or projecting to a monitor that is properly positioned.
4. Take breaks to rest the eyes. A good rule is the 20/20/20 rule: Every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break and gaze at least 20 feet away. These are the basics. For additional information and a customized solution, I recommend speaking with someone well versed in ergonomics. This could be your chiropractor, physical therapist, or an ergonomics expert.

Elder Hill Farms

“Regenerative farming has connected us with our community in ways we couldn’t have otherwise through a common interest in healing the land.
“Let’s bring our community back to what’s real through food. Our ancestors grew up around fireplaces telling stories. This is how we can reconnect, sharing healing food together,” shares Ben Roberts who, with his wife Meghan, co-founded Elder Hill Farms, a regenerative farm in Driftwood, alongside their four children.
Regenerative agriculture is a holistic farming approach that enhances soil, crops, and ecosystems. Unlike conventional farming, which prioritizes efficient production of a single crop, regenerative agriculture combines practices like conservation tillage, rotational grazing, agroforestry, and permaculture. While these practices may sound unfamiliar to many, they reap considerable environmental benefits.
Stepping foot on Elder Hill Farms is a jolt back to a slower-paced, fuller way of life. The farm boasts aquaponics, gardens, heritage pigs, sheep, ducks, alpacas, and more. Ben and Meghan have a bold vision for the farm–to regenerate the earth and community by healing the soil and pouring back into the land that has served generations.
The Roberts family moved to Driftwood in 2019 with a desire to return to Ben’s childhood roots on his Canadian farm. Covered in caliche, the farmland was devoid of life. “We didn’t pick the perfect place; this place picked us,” Meghan shares. Their garden-driven vision quickly grew into something bigger.
Ben’s expertise in terroir and his profession as a sommelier led the Robertses to learn everything they could about microbiology. “We began working with food microbiologists to repair the soil to bring abundance back,” Meghan says.
By applying aquaponics, manure composting, water diversion, and more, the Roberts family transformed the land. With their feet on fertile ground, they then
expanded their efforts to help others. “Our local community has embraced this project beyond our dreams. We’re creating a model to let the produce and animals give back to the community–full of intention. We’ve partnered with local landowners and businesses such as Vista Brewing to regenerate their land and compost food waste,” says Ben.
“The best way to describe regenerative farming and what sets it apart is ‘repairing relationships.’ It’s learning to love your grass more than your cow. First, we have to respect the soil,” Ben says. “Sustainability for the family, person, and community is our ‘why.’ We have gates–not fences–between our property and the neighbors’. Regenerative farming has connected us with our community in ways we couldn’t have otherwise through a common interest in healing the land.”
That community bond became evident during challenging times. Meghan shares, “When our neighbors couldn’t go anywhere during Covid lockdown, we invited them to help us build our greenhouse. Over meals and by working together, this project united us with real, authentic connection.”
As a painter professionally, Meghan notes that the farm has become her canvas. “We’re taking time to be intentional. We’re building terraces which will be here for hundreds of years so, in the future, someone can say, ‘The people who lived here spent time to invest in beauty that mattered to them.’” The farm’s motto–Love Leaves a Legacy–reflects this purpose.
“This little farm project has turned into a community project, and we’re very excited for the future as we grow with a commercial kitchen, local sales outlet, and more.” Follow along for farming adventures and find out how you can contribute to making a positive impact on the environment by visiting ElderHillFarms. com and @ElderHillFarms on social media.

A Guide to Essential Legal Plans for Medical and Financial Matters
ARTICLE BY JILL NANCE, ATTORNEY PHOTOGRAPHY BY KRISTEN HAFNER
Having my firstborn turn 18 while a senior in high school has stirred up a range of emotions and thoughts–excitement for her future, anticipation in seeing which career path she’ll pursue, joy that is bittersweet since she’ll be leaving the house soon–and a shocking realization that yes, she is legally an adult!
I encountered a “first” related to her newly minted adult status when I tried to make a doctor’s appointment on her behalf. Because she recently turned 18, she now needs her own patient portal and to complete new paperwork before an appointment will be scheduled. The doctor’s office will no longer speak to me without her permission. I guess it’s time to come to terms with Mom and Dad no longer having the authority, nor much say at all, in her personal business.
This experience prompted this month’s topic: the importance of setting up a plan for young adults so that parents or other loved ones can access their medical and financial information and have the authority to make important decisions if they’re unable to.
A comprehensive young adult’s plan includes a HIPAA Release, Medical Power of Attorney, Statutory Durable Power of Attorney, and Declaration of Guardian. The first document allows the young adult to name others that may have access to their medical information. The Medical Power of Attorney grants others the authority to make medical decisions on their behalf, should the young adult become incapacitated. A Statutory Durable Power of Attorney confers certain powers over the young adult’s finances to whomever is listed. Finally, a young adult can use the Declaration of Guardian to name, and even exclude, who may serve as guardian of their person and their estate, should the need arise.
Preparing for the unexpected is just one of the many responsibilities my daughter will get to enjoy as a young adult. Having a plan in place gives both of us peace of mind, knowing that there will be no delay in helping her during an emergency. Your estate planning attorney can draft a plan like this for the young adult in your family.

WELCOMING OUR HEROES HOME
ARTICLE BY KRISTEN HAFNER

Approximately 300 veterans have made Dripping Springs their home. When you consider spouses, children, and parents, that means our military community here exceeds 1,000 people.
The Samaritan Center knows well the journey of veterans returning home and the challenges they and their families face during the transition. The Hope for Heroes program, initiated in 2007 by a team of Samaritan Center counselors, all veterans themselves, is dedicated to supporting veterans during this crucial period.
Recognizing the importance of addressing each veteran’s individual experience and with a mission to provide meaningful support, Samaritan Center opened a counseling office on Ranch Road 12 in January 2022. Samaritan Center counselor Jan Venable provides support to several veterans and family members as they transition from military service.
Blake Holbrook, a Purple Heart Recipient and Samaritan Center’s Veteran Mental Health Peer Specialist, has called Dripping Springs home for the last few years. In his role, he connects veterans to resources and facilitates support groups and outdoor hikes with veterans.

Samaritan Center
“When I was honorably discharged from Iraq, like many veterans I felt completely alone,” says Holbrook. “After struggling with addiction and PTS for many years, I found purpose in helping others, and the Samaritan Center was an avenue for that purpose.”
Beyond the scope of welcoming veterans home, in 2022 Samaritan Center began a partnership with Dripping Springs ISD. Funded by the Dripping Springs Education Foundation, this innovative program provides complimentary counseling services to educators and staff members who dedicate themselves daily to nurturing the next generation.
Samaritan Center is embarking on 50 years of delivering comprehensive counseling services in Central Texas. Their ongoing mission is to offer top-notch and accessible services, ensuring that everyone can access treatment, irrespective of their financial capacity. From the start, the center has focused on addressing the needs of the whole person.
A noteworthy event on the horizon is the annual Hope for Heroes Benefit on April 20, 2024, commemorating Samaritan Center's 50-year anniversary. The community’s backing, whether through attendance or sponsorship, plays a pivotal role in making this event a success. Samaritan Center extends a warm invitation to have Dripping Springs well represented!

Five Tips to Prepare Your Spring Garden in Central Texas

KNOW YOUR ZONE AND PLANT ACCORDINGLY
Always double check the tags on any plants you buy at local nurseries, as sometimes they will import plants that aren’t suited to our unique climate. Dripping Springs is in Zone 8A.

TIMING IS EVERYTHING
We typically don’t recommend planting any new shrubs or plants outdoors until mid-March. Planting too early can expose your garden to unexpected late frosts, while planting too late may limit the growing season for certain species.

SOIL PREPARATION FOR SUCCESS
Soil in the Hill Country often benefits from organic matter additions, such as compost, to improve water retention and drainage. Lawn aeration and overseeding is the best way to give your grass a boost so it can thrive through the harsh summer months ahead.
March is a great time to jump start your property’s potential and keep it thriving for years to come.
WATER WISELY
Consider installing a drip irrigation system to deliver water directly to the roots, reducing water waste. Collect rainwater in barrels during the occasional showers to use during drier periods. Additionally, choose drought-tolerant native plants that can withstand Texas' hot and dry climate.

COMPANION PLANTING FOR PEST CONTROL
Texas gardens are not immune to pests, but you can employ natural pest control methods by incorporating companion planting strategies. Planting marigolds can deter nematodes, and attracting ladybugs can aid in controlling aphids.

HEADWATERS
Preserving the Past and Welcoming New Generations

It’s easy to get lost in the beauty. It’s quiet here and the Hill Country view is breathtaking. Hazy Hills Manor sits upon one of the highest points in Headwaters, and from here it’s easy to envision the history that surrounds you. Parts of the original stone building remain, creating a unique landmark for a one-of-a-kind neighborhood.
Originally the domain of the Townes family, this land is now home to more than 700 houses. Headwaters, named to commemorate the location at the confluence of Little Barton and Barton Creek, is a thoughtfully planned neighborhood unlike any other.
Instead of overbuilding, developer Freehold Communities designed the neighborhood into and around the land, saving as many trees as possible and maintaining more than 1,000 acres of open green space. Nearly every home backs to a greenbelt, offering scenic beauty and unique privacy. Residents have access to 11 miles of trails and 30 acres of parks and playgrounds, including a stargazing park and Hazy Hills Manor.
“Raising kids takes a village. This is our village.”

Headwaters also features modern amenities: a resort-style split-level pool, expansive fitness facility, open-air pavilion, and more. Homes feature a cohesive brand of modern Hill Country architecture while maintaining a diverse range of styles and colors that blend into the natural backdrop. This timeless quality preserves the past and the personality of the place and will help the community age gracefully.
The land also borders the future Rathgeber Natural Resource Park, a Dripping Springs city park that protects 300 acres of pristine Hill Country land and will provide public access for recreational activities. Almost 30 acres larger than Austin’s Zilker Park, this land will allow generations of neighbors to immerse themselves in nature and explore the Texas night sky.
Beyond the natural beauty, the people set Headwaters apart. “Headwaters is more than a neighborhood; it’s a community,” says resident Becky Atkins. “We moved here at the beginning of 2021, attracted to the sweeping views and amenities that truly bring the community together. Since building our home just two short years ago, the community has grown in size yet somehow retained its sense of charm.”
In addition to seasonal events, resident-run clubs cater to a wide range of interests and bring people together. The HW Drinking Club gathers
to sip local spirits, a monthly poker club plays in the clubhouse, book clubs bring neighbors together, and all fitness levels are welcome to join Drip Fit Moms for workouts at the pavilion.
Additionally, neighbors in the community look out for each other. The Headwaters Moms with Littles group includes almost 300 mothers. “I originally created the group so women could have a safe space to discuss being mothers and any issues that come up,” says founder Raquelle Akavan. “Raising kids takes a village. This is our village.”
The future is bright for the children that call Headwaters home. Kids will be able to walk to a new on-site elementary school scheduled to open for the 2025-26 school year. The site can also accommodate a middle school. A new preschool is set to open this fall, along with the Oakwood Public Market, a family-friendly destination for discovering local food and provisions of the highest quality.
Now in its final phase, Headwaters will eventually include 1,000 homes. All phases are open for sale, including to-be-built customs and quick move-in options. Model homes are open daily.

Hiring an interior designer for your home is a strategic investment that goes beyond aesthetics; it's creating a space that seamlessly blends functionality with your personal style, making a house a home. Interior designers possess a unique skill set that enables them to transform your living spaces into functional, visually appealing havens that are a reflection of you.
One of the key advantages of hiring an interior designer is their ability to optimize space. They understand the importance of flow and functionality, ensuring every square foot of your home serves a purpose with style. From choosing the right furniture to
optimizing layout, an interior designer can make even the smallest spaces feel expansive and efficient.

Customization is another crucial aspect that an interior designer brings to the table. They work closely with clients to understand their preferences, lifestyle, and vision. By incorporating personalized elements, designers create spaces that reflect the individuality of the homeowner. From color schemes to furniture selection, every detail is curated to align with the client's taste and preferences.
Architects and designers collaborate to conceive a floor plan that not only optimizes space but also ensures a seamless flow and functionality. Exterior materials are chosen for both aesthetic appeal and durability. As the design transitions indoors, interior designers take the reins, shaping cabinet designs for a perfect blend of storage and style, selecting paint colors, and curating tile designs to add texture and visual intrigue. Lighting choices contribute to both the atmosphere and functionality of each room.

In essence, hiring an interior designer is an investment in comfort, functionality, and personalized style. It's a collaborative process that transforms houses into dream homes, reflecting the unique identity and taste of the inhabitants.

History of St. Patrick's Day
A JOURNEY THROUGH HISTORY, CULTURE, AND CELEBRATION

St. Patrick's Day, celebrated annually on March 17, is a cultural and religious holiday honoring St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. The day commemorates the arrival of Christianity in Ireland and celebrates Irish heritage and culture.
The origins of St. Patrick's Day can be traced back to the life of St. Patrick himself. Born in England in the 4th century, he was captured and brought to Ireland as a slave. During his captivity, Patrick found comfort in Christianity and, after six years, was able to escape to his homeland. Later, he felt a calling to return to Ireland as a missionary, working to convert the pagan population to Christianity.
St. Patrick’s Day is synonymous with the shamrock as a symbol of Ireland. It originates as a way to explain the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) to the Irish people.
March 17 is believed to be the day of St. Patrick's death. Over the centuries, the day has evolved into a more secular celebration of Irish culture and transformed into a day of celebration rather than mourning. Irish immigrants brought the tradition to the United States, where it gained popularity and eventually became a global phenomenon.
Today, celebrating on St. Patrick’s Day often includes wearing green attire, attending public festivals, and decorating with symbols like shamrocks and leprechauns. In Ireland, it is also a public holiday marked by religious services and family gatherings.
St. Patrick's Day serves as a reminder of the enduring influence of a missionary who left a legacy in Ireland, and it has become a day for people worldwide to celebrate Irish identity, culture, and the spirit of fellowship.

NOMAD Tiny Homes
The Tiny Home Revolution and the Power of Minimalistic Living
Adam and Heather Stacoviak along with their family, Eric and Katrina Dobbs, are now at the helm of NOMAD Tiny Homes–a beloved custom tiny home builder–right here in Dripping Springs. Over the past seven years, NOMAD has built more than 100 tiny homes for our nearby neighbors.
The Stacoviaks’ journey began as a dream during a remote tiny home getaway in 2021. Captivated by the peace, quiet, and simplicity, they envisioned sharing this serene experience with more people.
In 2023, they acquired NOMAD and relocated to a new warehouse on Bell Springs Road. Adam shares, “I love the entrepreneurial spirit and the amazing community here in Dripping Springs. Having a like-minded community that’s willing to show up and support our efforts has been so important to us.”
Heather agrees, noting that “the love and support for small businesses is one of my very favorite things about this town.”
Likened to adult tree houses, NOMAD's tiny homes are handcrafted in a warehouse,
offering customization, wheels for mobility, and meticulous attention to detail. These homes are not just a passing trend; they serve various purposes, from boosting land value for investors to providing affordable housing solutions.
For real estate investors, tiny homes can enhance land value without altering it, catering to Dripping Springs’ status as the “wedding capital of Texas.” Investors can create retreats, while tiny home communities with gardens and amenities thrive.
For individuals and families, tiny homes offer an affordable and sustainable alternative to traditional housing, providing financial freedom and mobility.
The tiny home revolution is not just a trend but a lifestyle choice with numerous benefits–limitless location, financial freedom, and environmental sustainability. Join the movement and embrace the charm of minimalistic living with NOMAD Tiny Homes. Your tiny dream home awaits.
