Dog-Friendly Destinations WITH THEIR WELL-EARNED REPUTATION AS “MAN’S BEST FRIEND,” DOGS ENJOY SPENDING TIME WITH THEIR FAMILIES AT HOME AND OUT ON THE TOWN! Luckily, more and more places are welcoming dogs than ever before. From restaurants and beaches to hotels and hiking trails, look for dog-friendly designations and be sure your four-legged friends are well-behaved and friendly before taking them out in public—and don’t forget the doggie bags!

Dog Parks A great place for dogs to run free and socialize, dog parks are popping up in cities throughout the nation. In Conejo Valley, dog parks are plentiful, with new locations springing up, thanks to community efforts.

This 3.5-acre dog park has two sections, one for small dogs (30 lbs and under) and the other for large dogs. Drinking fountains have attached dog water fountains.

This small dog park offers views of the Conejo Valley and local foothills. Open daily, 7 a.m.-10 p.m.

Open daily 7 a.m.-8:30 p.m.; closed Thursdays, 7-9 a.m. & all day the 3rd Thursday of each month

» ESTELLA PARK 300 Erbes Road, Thousand Oaks This small 1.9-acre neighborhood park is located off Erbes Road between Thousand Oaks Boulevard and Hillcrest Drive. Open daily, 7 a.m.-10 p.m.

Located toward the top of Oak Canyon Community Park, this dog park includes areas for large and small dogs in a beautiful setting with mountain views. Getting to this dog park requires a little trek through the park. Open daily, sunrise to sunset
