Internships at Levy take three forms - Home Office, Operations, and Culinary. Our in Operations and Culinary nternships are a chance to gain hands-on experience in one of our iconic locations, with mentoring from our experienced leaders.

Our Home Office ‘On-Deck’ internship is based in our corporate office in Chicago. Interns will spend 10 weeks embedded in one of our functions where they’ll be assigned a mentor and work on a strategic business project.

Internship Opportunities

Operations Culinary Home Office

OPERATIONS INTERNSHIP This 10-week operations internship program will consist of an overview of vital aspects of our front of the house operations. “On-the-job” training will provide valuable knowledge and experience to enhance your career opportunities.

The internship program will vary depending on location but will typically rotate between the following departments: Purchasing-Warehouse The operations internship will begin back of house, where interns will gain first-hand experience in what it takes to receive, manage and distribute the high volumes of product Levy uses during an event.

Concessions Serving 30,000 fans during a game is no small feat! During the concessions rotation, interns will learn how to provide memorable experiences at scale in our concessions department.

Premium From the clubs to suites, Levy’s offers unbelievable culinary experiences. Interns will gain first hand exposure to what it takes to deliver high-end experiences at scale.

Catering Our non-event day sales and events teams will provide an insight to our sales and planning process. Interns will experience the process of creating and executing events such as conferences and weddings.

Support functions The final rotation will see our interns shadow in-venue support functions, such as HR and Finance.

Each intern will be assigned a mentor and provided with a detailed curriculum to be covered off at each stage. At the culmination of the internship, their mentor will provide them with a detailed evaluation and recommended areas to develop further.

Brian Lapinskas VP Design & Construction Some of the most successful leaders at Levy started their career with us as interns. Brian Lapinskas, our VP of Design & Construction started his career as an intern at Churchill Downs before going on to lead a range of properties including American Airlines Arena, Georgia World Congress Center and overseeing the opening of Mercedes Benz Stadium. Brian now supports the design, development, construction, and project management of various sports and entertainment and restaurant projects.

CULINARY

Culinary Internship Levy’s 10-week Culinary Internship Program is an immersive journey designed to ignite passion for the culinary arts. Throughout this program, interns will delve into the heart of our kitchen, learning from seasoned chefs, and gaining hands-on experience in a culinary environment. From mastering fundamental techniques to exploring the nuances of menu creation and specialized cuisines, this internship is crafted to nurture skills, broaden horizons, and prepare interns for a culinary career.

While the culinary internship will vary by location, it will include: Orientation and Introduction •

Introduction to the culinary team, kitchen layout, and equipment.

Overview of safety protocols, hygiene standards, and kitchen etiquette.

•

Shadowing different kitchen stations to understand daily operations.

Station Rotation •

Rotations through different kitchen stations (e.g., prep, grill, sauté, pastry).

•

Learning specialized skills and techniques relevant to each station.

Menu Development and Specialized Cuisine •

Introduction to menu planning and development concepts.

•

Exposure to different cuisines or specialized dietary requirements (e.g., vegan, gluten-free).

•

Assisting in creating and executing dishes for special events or themed menus.

Throughout the program, Interns will be supported by a dedicated mentor who’ll guide them through the process and complete a detailed evaluation with them at the culmination of the program.

Culinary Connect Led by our VP of Culinary, Dayanny Delacruz, the Culinary Connect program integrates vocational training, mentorship, and hands-on experiences to empower individuals pursuing careers in the culinary arts. Through education and practical engagement, we ensure culinary excellence contributes to both individual success and the overall vitality of the community.

The Culinary Connect initiative encompasses a range of community engagement and internal development programs, specificially aimed at our culinary Team Members.

ON DECK PROGRAM Our Home Office or ‘On Deck’ internship program takes place each summer with around 20 interns spread across our corporate functions, from marketing to finance. Over the course of 10 weeks, interns are immersed within their respective departments, gaining real-world experience in their chosen specialism.

Assigned Professional Mentor Each intern will be assigned a mentor for the duration of the program, providing them with guidance and tuition to help them excel in their internship and beyond. The mentor will be a guide for the full 10 weeks and in many cases will become an informal professional contact for the rest of the interns career.

Professional Development In addition to the support and guidance offered by the mentor, interns will also participate in a range of professional development activities, from presentation skills to personal branding, all led by our in house experts.

Business Impact Project Throughout the program, interns will be given a strategic project to work on within their specialized function. This will be completed with the support of

Training & Talent Management Specialist A graduate from St Louis University, Alexa interned with Levy in 2022 where she successfully implemented a new platform for sharing recruiting collateral for job postings.

Upon graduation, Alexa was hired in the position of Training & Talent Management Specialist, whwere she now oversees a range of programs, including the On Deck internship program!
