t’s no secret that the golf industry has experienced challenges in recent years. Even more, to succeed as a private golf club in a seasonal area requires a certain “je ne sais quoi” that most fall short to attain. Yet The Shore Club, located in Cape May County, NJ, has not only found a way to endure its seasonality, the club has embraced it. Over the past two years, The Shore Club has charged forward with its $1.5 million dollar renovation and hasn’t looked back. The club has capitalized on one of its biggest assets, the view. The 18hole championship Stiles – Van-Cleek designed course overlooks the back bays of Stone Harbor and North Wildwood. With the opened-up views from the clubhouse to the waterline, Members enjoy a front row seat to the painted skies of South Jersey over dinner on the patio.
Speaking of the patio, 2020 will see a massive redesign of the club’s outdoor dining space. Equipped with additional seating, fire pits, and cooking area, the new outdoor entertainment area will serve as another highlight to The Shore Club’s already impressive résumé and as an amenity to your summer vacation. In addition to recent dining renovations, the member’s bar, ballroom, men’s and ladies’ facilities, locker rooms and lobby have all enjoyed a recent facelift. However, the true gem of The Shore Club is the course itself. Don’t let the yardage book fool you. The Shore Club provides a true test for golfers of any skill level. A challenging but rewarding experience that will have you itching to get back out there. The Pro Shop’s attentiveness to their tee-sheet and pace of play has member’s playing a round

Tree removal has also been a major focus, making the relatively narrow fairways less intimidating all while not compromising the integrity of the course. Under the golf architecture services of Tyler Rae Design, LLC, the grounds crew has been working diligently on a bunker renovation project, already completing 19 of the 29 green side bunkers. The redesign does not miss the finer details. Having the ball above or below your feet on an uneven tee box is something no one will endure when teeing up. Plans are in motion to laser level all back, mid and forward tee boxes. If you need to fine tune your game before hitting the course, The Shore Club has you covered.
