Leroy Processing Spain is part of the Lerøy Seafood Group, the main exporter of seafood from Norway and the second largest producer of Atlantic salmon in the world, present in more than 80 markets worldwide.

The history of Leroy Processing Spain dates back to 2013, in Pinto (Madrid), when we started working on our first line of business: processing and distribution of fresh fish. Two years later, in 2015, the business line dedicated to the preparation of sushi and Japanese food started. Since then, the company has grown exponentially in production volume, variety of assortment, infrastructure and human team. From 2017 until now, we have seen the opening of 4 new factories located in Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

At Lerøy Seafood Group we are involved not only in capture and aquaculture, but also in processing and packaging in our plants and its distribution to the final customer.








QUALITY
The fish farms of Lerøy Seafood Group are positioned in the crystal clear waters of the Norwegian Sea, far away from maritime traffic, which allows the fish to develop in a clean environment, with sufficient amounts of oxygen and space to swim freely, where the 97 ,5% is water and 2,5% fish, thus favoring a much more balanced and natural development, without contamination or generation of excess ammonia and Omega 6 or antibiotic treatment.

The quality of salmon and trout is defined by its texture, color, flavor, nutritional value and food safety, factors that depend on the conditions in which these fish are raised.
To guarantee the quality and safety of our products, all our plants in Spain have the ISF Food certificate.

All of our operations are carried out under the umbrella of the public permits required for the harvesting of Norwegian fishery resources.

Environmental care is reflected in all phases of the production chain, approved and certified by multiple international organizations such as ASC, GAP and MSC.

OCEAN FOREST
Ocean Forest is a project that fully demonstrates Lerøy’s vision of sustainable aquaculture management and his focus on the constant search for innovative ideas and continuous improvement.

It is one of the group’s latest initiatives regarding sustainability which aims to substantially multiply the production of food from the sea in a sustainable way, all by harvesting species from the bottom of the food chain.



FROZEN
At Leroy we have a wide range of frozen products, for this we develop freezing processes focused on maintaining the quality and safety of our products.

QUICK FROZEN
Leroy Processing Spain has a unique deep-frozen process in the Lerøy Seafood group. This process is carried out through a frozen tunnel created specifically for our plant in Madrid. With a measure of 11m long and a double lane of 90 cm each, it is capable of freezing our products at -40o centigrade in less than 40 minutes.

Quality and tradition since 1899 PROCESSED IN SPAIN
The high quality of Lerøy salmon does not only consist of meat with a tender texture, excellent flavor and high nutritional value, but also sustainable farming practices. Our decisions differ from those made by other companies in the sector. In order to guarantee credibility and put our choices in writing, we have prepared, in collaboration with DNV, GL, a Product Certificate (STP Salmo salar), exclusively for Lerøy salmon. All of our operations, from feeding to breeding, catching and sales, are audited annually by a third party. Thus, we document compliance with all the requirements of Lerøy salmon.
From our processing plant located in Pinto (Madrid), we receive the raw material directly from our farms in Norway, which allows us to guarantee the greatest freshness and quality of the product, the greatest flexibility and efficiency in the service. At Leroy Processing Spain we offer both whole gutted salmon in its different sizes and processed salmon in different formats, according to the preferences and needs of our customers.

TROUT OF THE FJORDS
Thanks to the innovative breeding system of Lerøy Seafood Group, we can enjoy trout of high quality and nutritional value throughout the year.

From the fjord to the table
Lerøy trout are born and raised in the fjords of western Norway, where freshwater from glaciers embraces arctic currents. Wrapped in the most favorable conditions, our Fjord Trout has a tender texture, a delicate fresh flavor and a deep red color. Very rich in DHA and EPA and vitamin B12, it is perfect for any diet. As with the Lerøy salmon, a large part of the Lerøy trout farming facilities are certified by the most demanding authorities such as ASC.

WHITE FISH WILD
Another delicacy from the Norwegian Sea that reaches our processing plant in Pinto is the wild species of the arctic cod family: cod, skrei and stoker

Wild taste
These are wild fish that are born and grow in the crystal clear waters of the Norwegian Sea and their capture is strictly regulated by the Norwegian authorities and certified by MSC, the most demanding organization in terms of sustainability of the marine environment. The meat of these species ranges from white, in cod and skrei, to pearl
gray, in stoker; It’s firm, low in fat, and high in protein, making it a favorite for any diet. At Leroy Processing Spain we offer arctic, skrei and stoker cod, both whole gutted in its different sizes and processed in loin format. In the case of wild species, their availability is subject to seasonality and weather conditions.

SUSHI
In 2015, Leroy Processing Spain begins the development of new products inspired by Asian cuisine, starting the production of sushi. It is a line of assortments designed to help complete the gastronomic offer of hotels, catering companies and restaurants not specialized in Japanese cuisine.



We have a variety of traditional assortments, innovative combinations of different flavors and textures and, of course, a vegan line. All our sushi is suitable for coeliacs as it is a completely glutenfree product. We also develop different varieties adapted to the preferences of our customers.

With the opening of the factory in Valencia in 2018, Leroy Processing Spain expands, once again, its offer of products with Asian flavors, starting the production of gyozas. They are frozen products with a very simple method of preparation, either on the griddle, microwave, or steamed, and adapted to the needs of professional chefs.
