The peace sign was created in 1958.

The Starbucks symbol is a siren f rom Greek Mythology.

The emoji was created in 1999 when picture messaging became popular in Japan.

This was intended to be a design as a symbol for Direct Action Committee Against Nuclear War (DAC). The letters within it “N” and “D” were used to represent “nuclear” and “disarmament”. I love what this symbol represents and the simplicity of the design.

USA 1971 The woman in the Starbucks logo is the Siren and stands for “obsession, addiction, and death.” I love Starbucks and the meaning behind the logo is not surprising to me.

1999 Emojis were created because picture messages were taking up to much space to send, so engineers made smaller graphics to still encompass the same messages. Emojis are one of the best creations ever made for texting.

The stoplight was first installed in 1920.

The hash tag was created in the 12th Yin and Yang was created around century and was originally a symbol in 700 B.C. in China. music.

USA 1920 The traffic light is used as a symbol or signal for stop, slow, and go.

England and France The hash tag was originally appeared as a musical symbol, i.e. #Sharp.

The stoplight was a genius creation.

I think this is a very odd symbol and has come very far from its original meaning and intent.

Yin and Yang are opposites and together they are complete. This is a very simple and interesting symbol of Chinese history. It’s very unique.

The first apple computer was created on April Fools Day in 1976.

This is “The Tingler” or otherwise known as the head scratcher.

USA The first ford was ordered for $850 from Ford Motor Company.

USA Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs created the first Apple.

I love this car and how vintage it looks now.

I love Apple products, who doesn’t!

This is the weirdest inventions I have ever seen.

Lamps are used for light and come in different shapes and sizes.

Alexander McQueen shoes show amazing details, however, they are completely unusable by the common population.

Hand chairs were created in the l ate-1950’s.

England 1801 I love elephants!

London, England 1990’s The detail put into these shoes is just amazing.

USA These were created at the end of the Mid-Century Modern movement. I have never actually sat in one of these chairs, but they don’t look that comfortable.

Slab Serif was created in the 1800’s.

Modern typeface was created in France.

England Slab Serif came to be when Napoleon returned from Egypt and published Description de l’Egypt. I think this is a very structured and easy to read font.

1784 Modern typeface was created by Firmin Didot (son of François-Ambrose Didot).

Different Grotesque was created by, Duncan Forbes, of The International Office. 1912 This typeface concentrates on the geometric shape.

This is a very interesting and straight I love how this typeface is thinner than typeface, and I really love this typeslab serif, but keeps its fancy and face. structured look.

Old Style is considered to be a Humanistic typeface.

Comic Sans was created in 1994.

Black Letter was very popular up until about 1941.

Italy 1495 Old Style includes fonts such as Times New Roman. For me this is an academic font and will always remind me of school essays.

USA This type was created for Microsoft as a comic book inspired type. I think this is a very interesting font and apparently everyone hates it.

Germany 19th and 20th Century The Black Letter type was also known as “frakturschrift”. I think this font is so different from the modern fonts.

Jif Peanut Butter was first created in 1958.

Apple trys to keep their packaging enviornmentaly friendly.

This is called Japanese Ocha.

USA J.M. Smucker Co. wanted to create a peanut butter that mothers would want for their children.

USA 1990’s

I love this glass jar and colorful logo.

The simplicity of this package is perfect.

Washington D.C. 2010 This was created as a tea package. I love how unique and different this packaging and it really stands out to me.

This is KFC packaging and it is used for all of their meals.

Barbie doll packaging is being linked to the destruction of an Indonesian rainforest.

Crystal head vodka was created by iconic Canadian actor Dan Akyroyd.

Louisville, Kentucky 1940’s This packagaing is different from other fastfood chains and it works.

New York City 1959 I always hated these packages because everything is twist tied to the back making it impossible to take apart.

USA This vodka bottle was created based on the lagends of the Crystal Head. This skull vodka bottle is an interesting and unique way to package the liquid, and I love it!

Converse shoes were created in 1908.

10th Tribe clothing brands its models as “dolls”.

Victoria Secret uses water bottles to continue their advertisement of PINK.

USA These were created as a sneaker and was unique for its time.

New York City Summer 2012 This brand was designed to be simple, yet high quality.

2010’s

I own a pair of Converse shoes and the logo should never be changed.

I am all about simplicity and the type is just lovely!

I love the brand PINK and I use their water bottles because they look fabulous.

This McDonald’s billboard was used to create a need for their coffee.

Xbox was created in 2001.

This is a BZ bodyboard.

U.S.A. Xbox is a gaming console.

U.S.A. BZ bodyboardswas started in the 1980’s.

On freeways across the USA The image makes me want to go out and buy a coffee.

I think that this is a very well known gaming console, however the logo is not very visable.

I think that placement on bodyboards can be useful, but also difficult to see most of the time.

“Rosie the Riveter� was the character illustrated in this poster.

This is the Brave poster for Disney.

The Endless Summer poster was created in 1966.

USA 1941-1945 This poster was used to empower the women during WWII to work the jobs that men worked before the war started. This is a great poster, and does exactly what it was supposed to.

USA 2012 This was created to advertise the movie Brave. The illustration of the brave character is just beautiful.

USA This poster was used to advertise a surf movie. I love the colors and outlines used.

Anti-smoking ads were being distributed since 1960’s.

The Keep Calm and Carry On posters This poster was used for an exibit, but were created in England. advertised like a movie.

Anti-smoking ads are being created all over the world.

1939 These were created after WWII began.

I have always been strongly influenced by anti-smoking ads.

Some of the Keep Calm and Carry On posters like the one above just does not make any sense to me.

These painting like trees are called Rainbow Trees.

These are frozen air bubbles.

“Dirty thunderstorms�.

Abraham Lake The plants on the lake bed release gases and they are frozen when traveling up through the ice cold water.

Volcanic Lightening Redoubt This occurs when thunderstorms and volcano eruptions are combined together.

Hawaii The contrast between the raw bark and the dying bark creates these beautiful colors. These colors look incredible together and are inspirational.

I still cannot even wrap my mind around this phenomenon.

The contrast of these colors is just stunning.

These are light pilars streaming down from the sky.

These are spiderwebbed cacoons.

This is called the bloodfalls

Pakistan These spiders take over the trees and they use it to capture all their food.

Alaska These falls are created because of microbials that were stuck below the ice.

Moscow These pillars were created when the sunlight or moon light reflects against ice crystals. What a beautiful sight!

This is the most bizarre image in nature I have ever seen.

The color of water is so real and is quiet disturbing.

U.S.A. This was a safety advertisement for the razor to keep them out of children’s reach. I love the vintage look of this advertisement.

U.S.A. I love the simplictiy and creativte use of tomatoes.

Coop’s Paint This advertisement was used to advertise not only the paint brand, but to show the vibrance of the colors they sell. I love the use of space in this advertisement.

Asics shoes created a very athletic advertisement, which is appropriate.

Delicate Women’s Underware should This is a cigarette have thought their ad placement out a awareness advertisement. little better.

U.S.A. These shoes are supposed to be used for exercise and this exactly what the advertisment is showing. I really like the slogon.

U.S.A. Originally this advertisement was mean to show white women’s underware and turned into a poopy underware advertisement. I find this advertisement to be hilarious!

Not Sure

U.S.A. Taking care of your surroundings is the basis for this ad. It took me a while to really understand what this ad was trying to convey.
