Wrapping Up an Incredible Summer at the Pool
What a summer it has been at Laurel Creek!
From splashes and sunshine to family fun and unforgettable memories, our pool was the place to be all season long. We wrapped it all up on Labor Day with one of our best celebrations yet complete with a dunk tank, foam party, delicious food, and the most beautiful weather to close out the summer in style.
A special thank you goes out to our amazing team for all their hard work throughout the season. And of course, an extra shout-out to TJ, who truly sacrificed his body for the dunk tank our members had just as much fun watching as they did participating!
As the kids head back to school and cooler evenings roll in, we’re shifting into an exciting fall full of events for everyone to enjoy. Up next: our Character Brunch this Sunday, followed by Movie Night on the Range, Dinner en Blanc, Brunch in Blu, and the Ladies’ Outdoor Sip & Shop. We’re also bringing back favorites like Bourbon & Cigar Night and Oktoberfest.
And be sure to mark your calendars for our two biggest nights of the season:
• Halloween Spectacular – October 27th
• Fall Gala – November 14th
Golfers can also look forward to our two One-Day Member Guests on September 11th and October 9th, open to all Social Members as well.
A Note to Our Golfers
We need your help in keeping Laurel Creek’s golf experience enjoyable for everyone. Please hold yourselves and your groups accountable to our pace-of-play standard of 4 hours and 9 minutes or less for foursomes and remember to allow faster groups to play through. While we try our best to monitor pace of play on our GPS systems and on the course, as well as send messages to groups, we also need you to keep up with the group AHEAD of you.
For the good of the course:
• Do not skip or cut in front of groups.
• Repair your ball marks—every time, plus another one.
• Replace divots before using sand bottles.
• Rake bunkers carefully and be sure to tap sand from your shoes before walking onto the greens.
Again, we can’t emphasize this enough: FIX THOSE BALL MARKS!
All of these events and reminders can be found on our Club App for easy registration and updates. We can’t wait to see you back at the Club this fall for another season of incredible experiences and everlasting memories!

DIRECTOR OF MEMBERSHIP
This past month, I experienced a big milestone. I dropped both my boys off at Penn State. Mason moved into his apartment for his junior year, and Dylan into his dorm as a new freshman. Just like that, my house is quieter, my daily routines have shifted, and a brand-new chapter has begun.
As I walked through that transition, it reminded me so much of what I see here at Laurel Creek every day. Our members also go through seasons of life. Some are raising young children, others are sending them off to college, many are welcoming grandchildren, and some are simply looking for new opportunities to connect. What I love most about Laurel Creek is that the club grows with you and each of those seasons.
I see young families who make lifelong friendships at the pool, couples who enjoyed dinners on the patio, and retirees who discover new passions on the golf course or the pickleball courts. No matter the stage of life, Laurel Creek is a place where community, connection and memories continue to flourish.
As we all step into a new season, I encourage you to think about who in your life might be ready to begin their next chapter here at Laurel Creek. Inviting friends to join not only enriches our community, it also allows you to receive a $1000 credit to your account as a thank you for helping our membership grow. Most importantly, it ensures that more families get to experience the friendships, laughter, and sense of belonging that make Laurel Creek such a special place.

HEAD GOLF PROFESSIONAL
Fall golf is upon us. As the leaves begin to change, afternoons become breezier, and evenings become chillier, the golf season is starting to wane. While fall golf is the best (in my opinion), it does begin to signal shorter days and limited daylight for working on your game. Fear not, we have updated our simulator room, which will now be open in September.
Our simulator features TrackMan technology, the best in the business, which enables you to practice on a virtual driving range, film your swings, and even play championship-level courses. Reservations for the simulator can be made through the LCCC App, under Golf> Book Simulator. Free of charge to Golfing members, the simulator carries a $30 charge for house/social members and a $60 charge for guests. All bookings can be made for an hour, with a member allowed to book up to two hours/ week. We hope you’ll take advantage of this amenity!
While in the simulator, you may wonder what in the heck some of the data means. The remainder of this article will serve as a cheat sheet for some of the more critical numbers.
Face Angle: Simply, where the club is aimed at impact with the golf ball. Positive numbers signify to the right and negative numbers to the left.
Club Path: The direction you are swinging the club. Positive numbers signify to the right, and for righthanded players will typically help to promote a draw. While negative numbers show the club traveling left, they will promote a fade.
Attack Angle: Indicates whether you are hitting the ball up or down. Negative shows down while positive means you are hitting up. Generally, you want to see a negative number for your irons and a positive number for your drive.
Low Point: Show by an A or a B, this shows whether you are hitting before the ball or after. We hope for the A’s in all our iron shots!!!
So, register on the app to book your own simulator time and work on your game. Or schedule a lesson or fitting with any member of our Professional Staff. We’re all happy to help!

DIRECTOR OF GOLF COURSE OPERATIONS
A couple of weeks ago, we were staring at some fairways that had gotten pretty banged-up from aerification.

As a reminder, here’s what #5 looked like at the time While the irrigation system allows us to get by for a while, there is no substitute for the uniformity we got from the steady rain earlier in the week. Additionally, going from high temperatures in the 90s, to the 70s makes a world of difference in turf recovery. #5 fairway looks just a little different now than it did a week prior:

Looking ahead, there are no days forecast to be in the 90s. This summer was just plain tough on the turf, so let’s hope the weather prognosticators are correct!
