engl. ⁄ Veronika Walch plans and organizes weddings and celebrations in Lech at the foot of Arlberg. Someone who parties for a living has quite a lot of stories to tell. Stories of grooms that are suddenly afraid of the altar, of weddings in horroroutfits or of the special pulse of summer in Lech.

Veronika Walch can most certainly not complain of a lack of romance.

Since the foundation of her weeding- and event-planning agency “edel.weiss” she must be surrounded by happy couples in love all the time. Right? “Yes, I’ve heard of a number of very romantic marriage proposals. Each proposal is unique and for the couple it concerns it’s always the most beautiful proposal ever.” The most beautiful ones are certainly those uttered in Lech. Apparently it’s not rare that a proposal is made on the piste with a bottle of Champagne that magically appears out of a backpack. Veronika Walch agrees that the mundane holiday location offers more than enough opportunities and inspirations for such an act.

Of course the creative organisator is aware of the high expectations her clients have towards her services. The wedding is supposed to be the greatest day in a couple’s life, there is no room for mistakes. Being the engineer of happiness Walch likes to leave room for spontaneity: “Often I tell my couples: It’s best to leave some things to chance instead of planning every minute of the day.” Some things simply aren’t forseeable, like the classic case of last minute panic in front of the altar.
