Maintenance Team
Superintendent Ian Johnson
So much of Lake Valley's success is owed to Superintendent, Ian Johnson. The course ' s stellar playing conditions are thanks to the hard work and planning of Ian and his team. 2020 and 2021 were very challenging on the golf course due to an unprecedented number of rounds played, but Ian's ingenuity and adaptability guaranteed consistently wonderful course conditions. We're lucky to have Ian and his dog, Vino, taking great care of the golf course for everyone to enjoy.

Primer Check-In
It is important that you check-in with the Golf Shop before going to play for many reasons including our ability to help others find you in the event of an emergency Please extend our staff that courtesy and make it your habit to do so. The Golf Shop is located on the bottom floor at the South side of the Clubhouse.
Practice Areas
The Practice Areas (putting green, short game area, and Driving Range) are for the use of members and checked-in guests. The Course Dress Guidelines apply to the practice areas as well Please follow all instructions regarding use (frost closures, evening closures, mats only on Mondays, etc ) Failure to do so may result in loss of privileges
Please do not remove golf balls from any of the practice areas or take them from one area to another. Please rake the practice bunkers when you have finished. And please be careful of cars parked along Lake Valley Dr as you are responsible for any damage caused by errant shots
The Driving Range has hitting areas on both ends (Upper/North and Lower/South). Access to the South end is on the west side of the Range, not down hole #9. If you are a long hitter and happen to hit a shot far enough to get to the other side be sure to yell FORE! and immediately cease hitting any Club that will reach the end
Low Chipping (no ball marks) is allowed at the practice putting green outside the Clubhouse.

Golf Carts
Rental carts are available in the Golf Shop You are encouraged to pair up when possible and take as few carts as are necessary to minimize wear on the golf course. Please observe all rules when operating the carts including keeping all 4 tires on cart paths at all tees and greens (on hole #9 keep right of the right bunker and trees), follow all signs as well as the green lines painted on the grass as you approach the greens. No more than 2 adults are allowed in the cart and no one is allowed to stand on the back of the cart. Handicap Flags are available for those medically unable to walk very far
We also have Courtesy Carts which can be borrowed to take out to the driving range and back. They are identifiable by placards on the front and are not for use on the golf course or to be monopolized Please do not load your personal belongings on them until you are ready to leave and please remove them when you have returned.
Scooters & Boards
In addition to Riding Carts, Lake Valley has electric scooters and boards for rent In order to rent a scooter or board you must first watch a video on our website and execute a waiver form which is good for all successive rentals either here or at other Clubs where they are available.
Pace of Play
We pride ourselves on a quick Pace of Play at Lake Valley. The course has a USGA pace rating of 2 hours per 9 holes. Please play at that pace or more quickly if possible. If others behind you are faster and there is an open hole ahead please either close the gap or invite them to play through. If your pace slows to 4:20 or more you may be asked to skip a hole or two to catch up. If you are behind a group playing at a pace slower than 2 hours per 9, don’t hesitate to courteously request to play through if there is an open hole ahead and/or call the Golf Shop for assistance. If you find that you are unable to consistently play 9 holes in 2 hours or less, please consult Golf Shop for tips and please refrain from booking tee times either early in the day or on busy days

A Lake Valley G.C. Primer
The Persimmon Grill

Reservations are not required but please let us know in advance if you plan to have a party larger than six
We do not have a beverage cart but are happy to provide soft sided to-go coolers that can be taken out on the course In order to help facilitate pace of play, if you desire to pick up food at the turn please place your order either by phone or on the APP from either the 8th or 17th tee If you call, please inform the Grill of your location Groups choosing to stop and eat between 9’s will not be guaranteed a space on the course and must check with the Golf Shop before resuming play.

If you plan to play music while on the course, please obtain the consent of all those in your group first and make sure the volume is low enough that it can’t be heard by others in front, behind or on adjacent holes.
Etiquette & Course Conditioning
Please be courteous and respectful to others while enjoying your time at the Club. Loud or abusive language or actions while here will not be tolerated.
It is every member’s responsibility to help maintain the golf course Please rake all marks out of a bunker and leave the rake outside the bunker parallel to the bunker edge. When exiting a bunker, exit on the low side.

Golf Course Facts
Our Press Maxwell designed golf course fully opened in 1965 and features a variety of holes and spectacular views of the Flatirons and foothills. The 6891 yard, par 70 course is challenging enough to test the most avid golfer and yet from the correct tees (we have 7 sets) can be enjoyed by the novice as well. Beginners and youngsters love our family tees which bring the yardage down to 2896 yards, but still offer the full "experience." A 70-yard short game practice area, a large practice putting green and target-rich driving range are great compliments to our well maintained course and an ethic of outstanding pace of play.

The Lottery
March 15th through March 30th
Registration will begin on March 15 To register log in to our website www.lakevalley.com and proceed to the Calendar or Event Registration and the Snake Quest (June 8) and register there. No e-mails, phone calls or inperson registrations will be accepted If you need assistance, please call us and we’ll walk you through the process You will receive a confirming e-mail An up to date list of all registrants is available on the Snake Quest registration page at the “Others Attending” tab.
At noon on March 30th, we will cut off registration.
If fewer than 44 members have registered by the cutoff all registrants will have a spot in the SQ and we will reopen registration on March 31st on a first-come basis until the event is fully subscribed and then a wait list will be established.
If more than 44 members have registered as of the cutoff, we will have a lottery drawing at 11 AM on March 31st to determine the field and an ordered waitlist will be established from among all registrants. The lottery will have the following parameters:
1 Last 3 SQ winners who registered are automatically in (Multiple winners count once)
2 All those registered before the cut-off get one lottery entry (chance)
3 Past champions get one extra chance for each win
4 One extra chance will be given for each year you played in the Snake Quest from 2000 to the year of the drawing.
5. One extra chance for those who in previous years (beginning with 2015) registered before the cut-off, did not get picked in the first 44, went on and stayed on the waitlist and did not get in (no extra chance for being added to the waitlist after the lottery)
6 One spot will be reserved for a member who joined after the previous year’s Snake Quest (If after 43 names are drawn no new member has secured a spot a drawing will take place among all new members registered for the drawing)
The lottery will be held in the West Room and the list of all names chosen and the waitlist will be e-mailed and published shortly thereafter. FYI, the last two years everyone who was on the waitlist and stayed on it eventually got into the event.
All those who are chosen will have their accounts billed for the $750 fee on their May 1 statement If you drop out, your spot will be offered to the first member on the wait list who will have 48 hours to commit Any ‘wait-lister’ who confirms will be billed immediately after confirmation Once charged, no refunds will be given except for cancellations received before May 15th but then only if another team takes your place. We look forward to another great SQ and strongly encourage you to register between March 15th and March 30th at noon if you think you want to play If you have any questions, please call or stop in the Golf Shop

Pre-Booked & Reserved Tee Times
“Pre-booked” or reserved tee times serve a valuable purpose here at Lake Valley and many of them have a long tradition as well; long preceding the privatization of the Club While some members believe these times should not be allowed, Club management and the Board of Advisors recognize their importance and advocates their judicious use.
Many factors will be taken into account when deciding whether to add or remove any reserved times to the list below Some of these include; the number of times requested, their proximity to other existing reserved times, the day of week and time of day, the group being served and its size relative to the number of tee times requested, the “openness” of the times to others wanting to join the users, the effect the times will likely have on course maintenance, Golf Shop maintenance, etc
Most importantly it will be incumbent upon those requesting the times to demonstrate the benefits these times will have to the Club (other members and management) and how they differ from other similar prebooked times.
It is essential that when pre-booked times are reserved that they are actually used and/or released in sufficient time to make them available to the general membership If the group has a leader we will work with the leader to facilitate use and release. As many of these times are held for groups with no “leader” the following protocol will be in place to help achieve this goal It should be remembered that it is a privilege to play in these times and the responsibility falls on those members wanting to avail themselves of this privilege to follow these guidelines
Each week we will hold (pre-book) x tee times for a group. Players in the group must stop in, call the Golf Shop or e-mail golfshop@lakevalley com anytime starting 5 days ahead to place their name on the list of players wishing to participate during those times. We will fill the times in order starting with the earliest and work our way towards the last one At Golf Shop closing 2 days before play we will release the last tee time if there aren’t enough players registered to have anyone in that time. At closing the day before play we will release all remaining tee times that have no one registered in them unless at that time the Golf Shop believes there is some benefit to the Club in not releasing a portion of them.

Pre-Booked & Reserved Tee Times
As of October 1, 2017 the following Groups are allocated Pre-Booked Tee Times:
Ladies 18 hole League – 7 tee times on Tuesday mornings April thru October, time changes during the season. Serves approximately 55 players.
Placing your name on the list assures you a spot in one of the group times but not one specific tee time. The group leader or the group is responsible to determine who will play with whom and when keeping in mind that all those who are on the tee sheet have priority to all who have not pre-registered Weather permitting 5-somes will be allowed (but not required) to help accommodate latecomers but only if all are riding carts, boards or bikes and an acceptable pace of play is maintained Please do not expect to play if you have not called the Golf Shop or e-mailed to pre-register and been told there is space.
Members who regularly take spots in these times and don’t cancel 24 hours in advance will be subject to having their privileges to play in these pre-booked times suspended.
It is our hope that if these basic guidelines are followed we will be able to continue this great tradition and the Club as a whole will benefit.
Men’s Twilight League Shotgun – 9 hole shotgun at 5 pm on Tuesday nights for 5 weeks beginning in June. Serves 60 players.
“Noon” Group – 4 tee times at 12:30 Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday during Daylight Savings time and noon during the rest of the year. Serves approximately 32 players.
Tosh Shotgun – April thru October Wednesday morning modified shotgun @ about 10 am, Uses 8-10 tee times and impacts play beginning at 7 am to 8:10 am (9hole play) in addition to the tee times. Serves approximately 60 players.

Partner Benefits & Reciprocal Play
Private Club Network
The Private Club Network (PCN) is the largest independent, private club-to-club reciprocal network featuring golf privileges for the price of $25 or $50. The Private Club Network includes 202 private courses nationwide. All Lake Valley Members are automatically PCN members In order to take advantage of the away privileges you must register at www privateclubnetwork com (1-800-547-0838) and follow their directions
PCN will call the Club you are interested in just as they call us for visiting members The starting time cannot be made by the club member.
PCN Guests pay a $50 fee for 18 holes at Lake Valley (or 9 holes – no discount) which includes cart and range balls If you would like to play at a different PCN Club, they might have a different rate from ours PCN tee times can bring guests, but the guests must pay a reciprocal fee There are no specific days of week or time restrictions but it is likely that each Club will have some restrictions to ensure visiting PCN guests do not cause members to be turned away. Here at Lake Valley we do allow PCN play during prime times. Example: A Saturday morning in June would not be allowed. A Saturday morning in November probably would be allowed If you are unaware of the PCN policies at a certain club, you may contact a member of our golf staff and we will try and get that information before you set up your tee time through PCN
OpenRounds Network
Lake Valley has partnered with OpenRounds to provide you with streamlined access to clubs you may wish to play in your travels. Access to OpenRounds is free and simple to navigate, at your convenience. When you use it to set up play at participating clubs you will be charged the guest fees set by each club www openrounds com
Registration Register at the link below There is no charge to register The staff at OpenRounds will then verify you as a member, and you’ll receive an “Access Granted” email message
https://www.openrounds.com/users/sign up
Booking Rounds
Once you’ve gained access to OpenRounds, you will be able to browse courses and submit a request to play Steps are as follows:
(1) Submit a request including day/time, number of guests, and a message to the host club
(2) Host club accepts/re-proposes/declines your request
(3) If request is accepted, payment is made via OpenRounds platform prior to the date of play
(4) A detailed itinerary is provided via email so that you may familiarize yourself with the host and its policies prior to arrival.
When you log-in to OpenRounds, there is a check box for “keep me logged in” If you check this box while logging in, you will be able to click the links here at Lake Valley and not have to log-in again Additionally, your golf staff and OpenRounds customer service will be more than happy to book on your behalf any time

Annual Member Golf Trips
We are continuously looking for ways to add to the value of your membership. One of those ways is organizing Club sponsored trips each and every year. In 2022, your golf professionals organized 2 separate member trips to Pebble Beach and Scotland! In 2023, we will be organizing trips to England and Bandon Dunes and planning various others for 2024!
Keep an eye out for these once in a lifetime opportunities! Contact Tyler@lakevalley.com or Cameron@lakevalley.com for more information
Golf Shop Pools
Last year we paid out over $20,000 in merchandise and shop credit!
Golf Shop Pools are a great way to accrue some extra shop credit for that new driver you ' ve been wanting! We run pools for all of the major championships as well as The Players Championship, Ryder Cup, Presidents Cup and Super Bowl. A portion of the proceeds in the pools goes towards Junior Golf Program improvement as well so it's a great way to show support for your club.
Hole in One Insurance
How It Works
Upon enrollment, members agree to contribute $3 to the Fund initially, and then $3 more each time a Member who is a Hole-in-One Fund contributor records a witnessed ace while playing here at the Club
All of the money in the fund at the time will be distributed to the Acer’s member account and can be used by him/her to offset the customary drink purchases or put to whatever purpose they desire.
All Club Members will continue to get their names recorded on the hole-in-one posts on the course whether or not you participate in the Fund
If you are interested in joining the fund please contact allie@lakevalley com You may sign up at any time and opt out at any time but you just never know when you are going to hit that perfect shot!
