DR. NICOLE WHITEHEAD ADVANCED SPINAL FITNESS
A Sit-Down Chat With DR. NICOLE WHITEHEAD

Our First Cup
My journey to becoming a chiropractor took me from my hometown in the San Francisco Bay Area to the East Coast for my undergraduate work and then back to the West Coast for my doctoral degree, and then to Michigan. From there, my husband Scott and I came to North Carolina after which we were blessed with the arrival of our first daughter, Roxie, in 2012 and Bridgette who came along four years later.
Stirring Moments
A friend suggested I see a chiropractor when I was a teenager … the experience was a life-changing one for me. Not only were the results of my adjustments amazing, but my doctor planted the seed for my future career by telling me he thought I’d be a great chiropractor.
Added Sweetness
Though I enjoy all the different patient populations, I really love caring for infants. I’m able to help change the trajectory of their young lives by helping them overcome health challenges; and with an advanced certification in pediatric and pregnancy care since 2007, I get to see lots of babies!
I see my work as a big, fulfilling part of my life—not as a separate part.
A Sip of My Favorite Things
My Cup Runneth Over
As most people do, I struggle to find the work/ life balance. However, the fact that I LOVE my work makes it easier, and I am very grateful for that. I see my work as a big, fulfilling part of my life—not as a separate part. I’m still working to make sure all the parts of my life get fairly equal attention, but I don’t feel like life starts when I get off work.
Trying New Flavors
One of my favorite things to do is to read a book while sitting in the sauna— peace and quiet at 130 degrees! I also LOVE Mexican food … I could eat it for every meal. I guess it is because I’m from out west, but give me a burrito or soft taco and I’m a happy camper … I make a mean guacamole, too.
About 18 months ago, I started taking singing lessons. I wanted to as a kid but needed to choose between voice and dance … I chose dance. So I decided that now was the time to learn something new. It’s a blast and my instructors are very patient with me. I’m definitely keeping my day job, but I’ve come a long way. w
