Shop ‘til you drop at this spring Ladies Day Out on May 10th, 2014 at the Lena Elementary School from 10AM until 4PM. Ladies Day Out is all about things fresh, fabulous & local and promises a little something for everyone. Admission is FREE so invite your girlfriends to a day of shopping, rejuvenation, and leisure while supporting local vendors and nonprofit organizations. Over 60 vendors will be offering the very best in fashion accessories, home décor, crafts, jewelry, candles, collectibles, purses, crafts, food, nutrition, cosmetics, books, antiques, gift sets and so much more! You’ll be able to find the perfect gift for Mother’s Day, graduations, weddings, birthdays, or for any special occasion. Also, the first 500 guests receive exclusive discounts from our sponsors. There will be raffle for a 32” flat screen TV and over 60 other great prizes benefiting the Lena Area Church Cooperative (LACC). The LACC is a non-profit organization devoted to serving the Lena area by maintaining the Lena Food Pantry and by helping the community when in need. Come and sign up for a chance to win a $100 of Lena Money. Gentlemen are also welcome to attend. A lunch stand and handicap accessibility are available. Mary Jo Pieper will be in Lake Carroll to help you sign up for NICOR service and to answer any questions you may have. You may contact Mary Jo to make an appointment by calling 815-873-5501. READY FOR AN AT-HOME VISIT? If you have paid the LCA permit fee for installing a natural gas connection to your home or if you know you want to convert to natural gas but want an estimate on the hook-up cost, you can now sign-up at the LCA Front Desk to set up an at-home visit by a NICOR Representative. NICOR REBATES & FINANCING: If anyone has questions regarding energy efficient appliances and available rebates or on bill financing of these appliances, periodically NICOR will have someone from their Energy Efficiency Team to provide money saving information. Twice-Sold Tales turns three in May, and we’re throwing a party! We’d like to thank our customers with some tasty treats Friday, May 2nd and Saturday, May 3rd. Cookies, coffee and lemonade will be served from 9 to 5 on Friday, May 2nd and from 9 to noon on Saturday, May 3rd; excellent books at ridiculously low prices are served every day. School’s Out! Celebrate! Students who bring in their report cards from June 7-14 may choose a free children’s or young adult book to kick off their summer reading. This would also be a great opportunity to collect books at bargain prices for those lazy summer afternoons or long car trips. With summer vacation just around the corner, it’s time to stock up on your beach reads. Twice-Sold Tales has just received a huge donation of hundreds of paperbacks in great condition at bargain bin prices. Stop in to gather a stack to enjoy in your recliner or at the pool.
