Sydney Dailey, and freshman Nikki Longmoore had two goals each during the season. MEN’S TENNIS The Panthers had a 4-3 record, including 3-2 in the USA South West Division. Seniors Caleb Edde and Kyle Kelley were selected to the USA South All-Conference West Division first team. Sophomore Al Robertson was an honorable mention selection. WOMEN’S TENNIS The Panthers were 2-5 overall and 2-3 in the USA South West Division. Senior Makayla Red and sophomore Hannah Miller had 4-3 records in singles play to lead the team.
Olds named Director of Athletics and Recreation
Terlynn Olds has been named the first full-time Director of Athletics and Recreation at LaGrange College. Olds most recently was executive senior associate director of athletics and senior woman administrator at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. “Terlynn has extensive leadership and management experience in intercollegiate athletics programs at the NCAA Division I and III levels,” said LaGrange College president Dr. Susanna Baxter. “She has high energy and a passion for excellence, and she is committed to helping the college in our quest to be a student-centered campus with successful athletics and vibrant recreational programs.” Olds also has served as the deputy athletics director at Grambling State University and the senior associate for internal and business operations at Chicago State University. She was the director of athletics at Chatham University and associate athletics director at Spelman College. Her experience includes four terms as a head women’s basketball coach. A member of several professional organizations, she has participated in numerous executive leadership programs sponsored by the NCAA. Olds also has served on key campus committees, as well as several athletic conference committees during her tenure in college athletics. She holds a bachelor’s degree in sports business from Saint Leo (Florida) University, a master’s in science of sports coaching from United States Sports Academy and a master’s in criminal justice from Saint Leo. Olds began work at LC on June 1.
GOLF The Panthers had top 10 finishes in two of their three tournaments during the season and were sixth at the USA South Tournament. Senior Cameron Starr earned first team USA South AllConference honors and junior Jay Adams was a second team selection. Starr played in the NCAA Division III Championship as an individual. He was second at the Savannah Invitational and fourth at the Jekyll Island Invitational. SOFTBALL The Panthers finished 3-13 overall and 2-12 in the USA South. LC placed three players on the USA South all-conference teams. Sophomore Reagan Gunter was a first team West Division selection as a utility player. Fellow sophomore Abbey Gardner and senior Rebekah Hobson were on the West Division second team as at-large selections. MEN’S LACROSSE The Panthers were 0-7 overall and 0-4 in USA South play during an abbreviated schedule. Junior midfielder Jack Bryan and sophomore short-stick defender Jhalil Daniels became the first Panthers to earn USA South postseason honors. Both players were selected to the USA South AllConference West Division team. BEACH VOLLEYBALL The beach volleyball team was able to play two matches this spring, beating Huntingdon 2-1 and losing 3-0 to Lincoln Memorial. Team members were Emily Boswell, Kinleigh Collins, Amelia Haddad, Carmen Hamilton, and Mya Sterling.
