Baxter President Emerita of GICA

President Susanna Baxter has been named President Emerita of the Georgia Independent College Association, an organization that supports the state’s private colleges and universities. She served as president of GICA for 10 years before coming to LaGrange.

While leading the nonprofit, Dr. Baxter raised more than $1 million in scholarship aid and grants for collaborative initiatives and operational funds, including a $570,000 federal grant. She successfully advocated for the restoration of $6 million in state funding for the Tuition Equalization Grant in 2013 and headed an effective grassroots campaign in 2014 that netted a historic increase of $2.2 million.
