Summer Camp in Switzerland

We offer a unique Summer Camp for young people aged 6 to 16 years from over 30 different nationalities. With stays ranging from two to five weeks, students have French or English classes in the morning followed by multiple sports and fun activities in the afternoon.

Characterised by a warm family atmosphere and set in a spectacular Alpine environment, our Summer Camps have a worldwide reputation for quality and an excellent staff/student ratio.

Minis & Juniors

Since our founding year, La Garenne has been offering our classic Swiss mountain experience camp. All students have French or English language classes in the morning followed by sporting and cultural activities each afternoon. The focus is on outdoor and non-digital activities and experiencing the best of the Swiss Alps.

Minis and Juniors are accommodated on the original campus with the youngest sleeping in Chalet La Garenne and the oldest in Chalet Beau-Site.

Teens

We offer an exciting programme to challenge and stretch your self-belief. The fees for the Teens programme include high adrenaline activities such as bridge jumping, Via Ferrata, canyoning, mountain biking and boat sessions on Lake Geneva at no extra charge.

In the mornings there are French or English classes followed by sports and multiple activities each afternoon. The focus is on outdoor and non-digital activities. Teenagers stay at our Le Roc Campus in rooms of two young people sharing.

Accommodation, meals, French or English lessons, activities, expeditions, Summer Camp uniform, books and school materials, personal laundry (for boarding students), wifi, transfers from and to Geneva Airport on official dates and schedules, taxes and VAT.

W HAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN SUMMER CAMP FEES

Optional extras, Swiss health and medical insurance, pocket money, fees for online courses (e.g. for breaching smoking/alcohol rules), recompense for damage caused to school property.

Application Procedure and SchoolRules

T ERMS AND CONDITIONS

• The reservation will only be effective once full payment has been received.

• Discounts: If siblings from the same family are enrolled at Summer Camp for the same session, a discount of 10% is applied for the second child, 15% for the third child and 20% for the fourth and subsequent children.

• If several siblings attend Summer Camp for the same session, they must be either all boarding students or all day students. It is not possible to mix the statuses.

• No refund will be given for a change of status from a boarding to day student during the course of the summer camp. Changing from day student to boarding student during a session will incur additional fees levied at the complete session boarding rate and is subject to availability.

• The School does not organise accommodation or transportation for parents, chaperones, agents or other family members.

• Parents of day students must make their own arrangements for bringing their child to and from school.

• Day students attend from 08:30 to 18:00 Monday to Saturday in the first week, and Monday to Friday on the final Friday. Camp finishes at 12:00 on the final Friday.

• Day students cannot be accommodated before the drop off time in the morning or after the drop off time in the evening, unless an early or late activity has been planned and parents have been informed.

• For child safeguarding reasons, parents, chaperones, guardians and other family members may not enter any part of the school campus, including access roads, car parks, school buildings and play areas, except at official arrival and departure times or by appointment. All visitors must sign in at Reception and they will be accompanied by a member of La Garenne staff at all times.

• Students may not have locator or connected devices on their person e.g. AirTag. If found, these will be confiscated and returned at the end of the camp. Only mobile phones or tablets may be used for Family Time sessions, not smart watches (e.g. Huawei). Day students may not bring mobile phones or other devices to school.

• We reserve the right to modify the programme and fees in response to changes in weather conditions or any other reason necessary for the smooth operation of the camp. We do not issue detailed schedules in advance to parents, students or agents.

• Photos of students may be published on our social networks and website, without full names. If you do not wish your child’s image to be shown, please inform us in writing. We cannot guarantee that a student will not be shown in a group photo, however. We also cannot guarantee that all students will be featured.

• Occasionally it may be necessary to charge additional fees during the course of the Summer Camp, for example for damage to school property, for online health and safety courses (vaping, alcohol) and so on. Parents will be invoiced and payment is obligatory.

• In the event of litigation between the school and the parents, Swiss Legislation is the only law applicable in all matters.

C ANCELLATION POLICY

• If a Summer Camp place is cancelled 65 days or more before the start of the session, the school refunds the amount paid in full. Currency: Swiss francs.

• If a place is cancelled fewer than 65 days before the start of the session, or after the session has started, the school retains full payment.

• Full payment is also retained in the event of a student’s early or voluntary departure, late arrival, dismissal or absence due to illness, family emergency etc.

• It is not possible to change a Summer Camp session within 65 days of the start of the booked session. In this instance, it counts as a cancellation and no refund can be given.

• If a student or parents cancel an optional extra within 30 days of the start of the camp or after the session has begun, no refund will be given.

• We do not issue refunds for students who cannot travel because their travel documents are out of date, or if they are denied boarding for any other reason. It is the parents' responsibility to ensure that all documentation is valid for travel. Passports are required for air travel.

• If a global pandemic is declared by official agencies such as the World Health Organisation, and students cannot travel due to resulting worldwide restrictions, we either refund camp fees in full, in Swiss Francs, or offer a credit note which can be put towards a future stay (academic, summer, winter, or integration), valid for two years.

• In the absence of a formal declaration of a global pandemic, students who choose not to travel will not be refunded within 65 days of the start of their planned Summer Camp session.

• We strongly recommend parents take out insurance to cover all eventualities.

I MPORTANT
